first off - thank you! i admire you and i hope that your time in the service is amazing.
i would do something a bit more grown up. maybe a dinner party. this marks a big change in your life, so make it classy! it doesn't have to be foofy or cost alot of money - just a simple dinner with great friends and family. keep it simple so you don't have to worry about a million details.
the invitations should be simple, too. a theme party is alot of work - and right now, you should be about relaxing!
