my son says you should slowly nibble away at his legs and then his arms but i think hes just a complete sadist......i worry about him sometimes....

Nah. It's fun that way. You can even try biting off his legs first so he can't walk. In the end, you eat the whole thing anyways so his suffering is short-lived.
I believe it is an unwritten rule that the head should go first. You want to make sure it is dead first before inflicting anymore pain. You HAVE to be humane!!!
