Baby shower and beverages?!

Question: I am about to be an aunt. Yay! And the baby shower is next week and I'm buying everything now. There will be a couple of diabetics there and a few picky people that don't like other drinks. So we are doing a variety. So far all we have is sweet and non-sweet tea. Haha.

What other type of beverage will be good?

Punch is always good for events like this. So does anyone have a really good punch with the ingredients?

Thanks!! :D

My favorite punch is very easy to make. Take a can of 5-Alive concentrated juice and mix it with water to make 2 quarts. Add 2 liters of ginger ale. Cover the top of the punch with scoops of orange sherbet. This makes the ginger ale foam up some, so make sure you have a large enough punch bowl.
You could also make sure you have a couple of different sodas available, a 2-liter of each. Sprite and Diet Sprite are usually acceptable, even to picky people. Good luck with your party, and congratulations to the mother-to-be!

If you have diabetics in your midst then I would recommend having non-sugared beverages, such as Crystal Lite or diet sodas.

Punch can even be done with Crystal Lite; they have a fruit punch flavor. Then you just freeze some more into ice cubes (so it doesn't water down the punch) and add some diet 7-UP and there you go! Easy, fast, cheap and everyone can enjoy it!

The standard punch receipe always seems to be Hawian Punch and sprite. Then add sherbet to keep it cold and add flavor.

I just gave a baby shower for my sister this past summer. If you have diabetics, its good to have regular and diet soda. I wouldnt worry too much about getting all crazy with the drinks, its the food and decorations that people remember the most.

I have a good diet punch that will be sure to please your diabetic as well as those that are just plainly watching their waistline.

Take a half gallon of diet cranberry juice(and yes there really have that too) and a 2 litre of diet ginger ale and a few lemon and grapefruit slices and it makes a perfect diet punch.

2 quarts tropical fruit punch
1 quart ginger ale
1 quart pineapple sherbet

Mix ingredients and pour into old milk jugs. Place them in the freezer until the big day. Pull them out before the shower to allow thawing about halfway. Pour straight into a punch bowl and serve. (There will still be a little ice mixture after thawing halfway - place over to the side for complete thawing and add to punch bowl as needed.)

make your punch in a baby bath and float a rubber duckie in it for a great decorative display on the table, plus its a great extra gift for the mom to be for after the party!

If you have diabetics, make sure you have a low/now sugar option of punch for them. Diet soda is a good idea, but personally, I always feel a little left out when there's yummy punch, and there isn't a low-sugar option.

For diabetics there is sugar free koolaid (WHICH IS REALLY GOOD) and you can make a punch off that;

Estimate all amounts- there should be less fruit than koolaid!
add pineapple chunks, strawberrys, raspberrys (Expensive and optional), blackberries and other fruits are also optional. Strawberrys and Pineapple make it tastier. Also, banannas can be good.

Happy Baby Shower!

I did a baby shower for my cousin that was rubber ducky themed, so I made "Bathtub Punch". When you're done it looks like blue water with white foam in it...float a couple of rubber duckys on top!

1 envelope blue Kool-aid mix
1 cup sugar
1 bottle white cranberry juice
1 2-liter lemon-lime soda
1 gallon vanilla ice cream

Mix together Kool-aid powder, sugar, cranberry juice. Float scoops of ice cream on top, then pour lemon-lime soda over to make the foam.
