Dr. Seuss party for a teen?!

I have this posted on the adolesence board as well, I wanted to get more opinions.
I added the following in reply to answeres (mostly kids) who where saying she should "go out" and party:
"Going out and having a blast" isn't an option. Number one, she is turning 16 and most of her friends are her age and younger. Our families are all very close none of us just turn the kids lose out on the town. Recipe for disaster. She has a wide range of friends, boys and girls ranging from girly girls to athletes.
Answers: My daughter wants to have an original twist on a birthday party. Inspired by all the teens I see enjoying the "Grinchmas" exibit at Universal Studios, I suggested a Dr Suess theme. What do you think? This is her 16th birthday and I thought I would use "Oh the places you can go" story as a guide for decor and stuff. She wants to have a great time with her friends in a fun and carefree environment.

I think it's a great idea.

I feel the need to expand on my answer. Since you thought of the idea I assume it is fitting with her personality. You certainly did not just pull it out of a hat and say oh sure this is what we'll do even if she hates it. Just because she is 16 does not mean her and her friends and cousins would not go for this kind of party.
Continued: I wonder if parents know what the local school dances are like? I have found that the majority of teens actually would love someone to step in and set bountries and "keep it light." Report It
