Need help picking China/silverware?!

Question: When I married, I eloped, there was no picking out china, silver, or crystal. I've been married a while now, and my mother-in-law (who is VERY into this kind of stuff) has asked me to pick out a pattern, and for occasions (such as my birthday, christmas etc) she would start getting me the pieces. Like I said she is VERY into this stuff and I know very little about it. She has offered to help, me find the pieces, but really gave me no direction as to where to look for the patterns. I have decorated my kitchen/dining room with grapes, so I'd kind of like to keep that theme. Can anyone suggest patterns they have collected, or sites they have seen that have a lot of patterns to look for. These do NOT have to be new patterns (such as you'd find in department stores) they can be older things that you buy via auctions/flea markets, I'm just looking for some patterns to consider.

Also, some patterns for silver and crystal (glasses) as well.

how lucky!!? if you stay with simple patterns then if you change your themes the dishes will still work..... plates that are real busy are not fun to eat off of... I would just look at plates in stores or even online and find a pattern that i liked.. you can look on ebay too for ideas.... I still use corning ware dishes...we have a set of copper handled silverware, but its a royal pain to keep shiny... you want something that is easy to care for and feels good in the hands... knives should feel heavy not light... Franciscan ware is pretty nice..
