Are starbucks getting fussy about their staff these days.?!
Answers: I have heard that recently a lot of new recruits just can't cut the mustard and slope of back to ma and pa.
I even heard they hire desperate actresses who cant cut the mustard at home either.
they are nice here!
starbucks is over rated but i like it
They still make a hell of a cup of coffee for me! No complaints.
LOL. I'll have you know, we don't deal in mustard.
no, my mom works there and they pretty much never fire people. but all the baristas are really nice and stuff.
I like some at the one here in NM but I have no idea how or why they hired the rest.
Why shouldn't they be fussy? It is time a company sets the standard and not the hired help.
my firend complained about a rude starbucks woman
maybe there were too many mean people...
maybe theyre all chickening out
as long as the coffees good!
XD
Yeah, Starbucks is doing what hollisters does. getting Young cool looking people to sell their products.
I've always thought they were rude and fussy. I think that's how corporate trains them. They can't understand a plain black coffee or an iced tea with lemon, and look down on you for ordering such a pedestrian thing and you don't know their weird named sizes. (I only go with friends, I don't care for fancy coffees, give me an indie coffee shop any day...they're nice.)
starbucks have been around for ages but their cappuccino is still rubbish, the man who invented cappuccino is probably turning in his grave..........
cos they got have right sort of staff
I could work there......
Grrr......... You want coffee? how very dare you!
they didn't like my D's they wanted some double D's, and i was inhaling and kept my shoulders back, too
"Everyboday gonna dance tonight
Gonna make-a schlock romance tonight
And my mandolin playing is really shite"
from Paul McCartney's new album, available at Starbucks.
Seems like when I bring my hoe in there, all them Brown/hair-aproned Starbuckettes start gittin' fussy about MAH staff!
I guess Starbucks can't find people that are the same old grind from before.
nope they will hire anyone
It depends on the manager and the new hire.
Some managers are good at training people, Starbucks has systems in place that make it easy to succeed BUT the new hire has to do their part too. Listening and following directions, unfortunately, is not everyone's strongest suit.
The easiest way to lose a job is to not be on time, or by stealing. Other than that, if the manager is doing their job, and the barista is doing their job, everything should be perfect.
As a manager for Starbucks, I'm very careful about who I hire. I get dozens of applications every week, but I only interview 4 a month and hire 1 out of 10 I interview. I have to be selective because hiring someone is a huge investment, and once I've hired them, I give them every opportunity to succeed.
I hope that answered your question!

P.S. To all the responses above who say they have been treated rudely at Starbucks, I'd like to apologize for your experiences. That is NOT how we expect our partners (employees) to treat customers.
