Party theme idea?!

Answers: i need a good party theme idea - a co-worker is leaving to persue a differnt job opportunity - so we want to throw a party for her before she goes - we work at a boarding school for teens at risk - they will be who is attending with the staff. any ideas? the only thought i had was a luau, but we did one ahwile ago, so looking for somethng different -

I would do a travel party. Everybody is a tourist. Pick a site the girls would love to visit. Maybe Italy (pasta, salad, red checkered table cloths, posters from a travel agency. Brown oragami small boxes to look like luggage filled with Italian candy, jordon almonds - girls could make them.) France (crepes, cheese, bread , fruit trays with sparkling champagne (I mean Welch's fruit sparkling juice). You get the idea. The teens could be split up - one group the favors, one the food, etc. Working with at risk teens... they need to have a dream...work the fun into your classes. They will love it and be proud of their accomplisment.

Costume parties are always fun. If ya want it even better, have a costume potluck party, where they have to bring a food that goes with their costume.

How about a southwestern theme. You can serve Mexican food, get a pinata, play mariachi music in the background. Make some tropical nonalcoholic drinks and put some fun straws in them. Oriental trading has fun stuff to decorate.
