What should I serve at a valentines day party?!

Question: I am having a non-couples party (at 630pm) for adults at my house for valentines day. I want to serve something more classy than burgers and chips, but not very time consuming. I would love to cook something in the crock pot because I will probably have to work until an hour before the party. Also something that isn't very messy and is mostly healthy. Any ideas???

Well lol idk why but strawberries are valentines day-ish and they are healthy...dip em' in chocolate!!! LOL but thats kinda messy!

As for the whole crock pot thing, i have no idea cuz im only 12!!

But i know everyone will like the strawberry chocolate things and maybe some heart shaped cookies :) yum!

I find chilli con carne is a good crowd-pleaser, and you could do it in a crock pot, but put the beans in at the last minute or they'll go tough. I make mine quite rich with lots of tomato puree, and flavour it with cumin and just a little chilli powder in case not everyone likes spicy food. If you wanted to do something 'Valentines-ey' you could put the rice in heart shapes on the plates using a cookie cutter. And serve it with a really nice green salad.
You could even have some tortilla chips/nachos and salsa and guacamole dips for a starter or side dish.

strawberries
cherrys
wine
cupcakes

and thats all i can think of right

candy hearts

I like the chili in the crock pot thing with appetizers suggested above.

Make a cake in advance... Have you ever had red velvet cake? It's a chocolate cake dyed with red food colour.. with a velvety creamy white icing. It's a fantastic choice for dessert to go along with those strawberries dipped in chocolate and sparkling wine.
