Any suggestions for a themed party?!

Question: I want to throw a party with my bestfriend but we want to do something different. We have a lot of parties here that are themed and we don't want to do the same ones. Examples of parties that have been done here are a black out (where people wore all black or they weren't permitted), all white (where people wore all white and had to be dressy or they weren't permitted), 80's theme and a 70's theme. This party is going to be aimed at ages 23-35 so we wanna do something that is fun but grown at the same time. Any suggestions?

We just had a pajama party. Turned out good.

One time in college I filled my whole dorm room with bags of playsand and had a beach party.. complete with sunlamps and a keg.. oh man did i get in trouble for that one!

How about a costume party? That'll be fun.

We had a make your own super hero party it was great fun. Invent your very own superhero, we had some very inventive people.

do american idol. have a karooke machine

My favourite party was the Country Club party. Another good one was a Euro Themed party or a pink party (for cancer)

Do cuban theme, cool salsa'y cuban music and can serve mojitos and maybe tequila and i am aware thats mexican but who cares

Secs and Exezects.

Secretaries and Executives.

the girls are the secretaries and the guys the executives
its a fun theme

1776 AD

Mobsters/flappers (I guess a 20s theme), Hollywood (come as celebrities), or the classic pajama party... haha

masquerade ball

travel theme, tv theme, dress up like your favorite tv character

I had a party the other night which was themed as "foreign people", because my canadian friend was moving back.

I was french with onions, stripy topa and beret
We had texan, russian (with vodka!) , chinese and egyptian

And you can also serve themed food.

Have a sexy toga party sort of like the movie "300" !!

luau.. like Hawaiin theme..
You know with the grass skirts and music and everything..
my brother had one..
tons of people showed up n it was a blast

I like the black/whiteout idea...everyone looks so sophisticated. You could do an 1800's theme where people come dressed as their favorite characters like Marie Antoinette. Or, my favorite, have a toga party. Since these people are mid 20's-early 30's it'll make them feel like they're back in college at a frat party.

Have a character party. No costumes. Rainbow brite, sandford and son. Weezy and george. The women from sex in the city. Got it. it works wonders when it is done right. Not sure where you are from but it is a lot of fun. Even a alter ego. If you are normally a Conservative person this would be the night to go opposite of that. You could also do a Vegas theme event. Nice and naughty. You can do a lot all depends on decoration. You could even provide little accessories to help the theme for those that have trouble bringing it together. Like beads, hat all depends. If you are in south fl. I can help its what I do. Hope this helps.

Tropical Paradise

This is a great time of year for a 'Summertime Blues' party !!
Everybody wears blue and/or summery clothes like shorts and sun dresses and sandals etc.
There are lots of Blue colored drinks and food if you get creative. We have even had prizes for most creative Blue food.
Always fun to have in the wintertime !!

How about a "book" party - choose a book and have everyone dress as the characters in that story-have foods and decor to tie it all in. You can choose something eccentric (Electric Koolaid Acid Test) classic (Wuthering Heights) scary (Frankenstein) - just look at some of the books you have on the shelf and see what lights you up. You could even try a cookoff and have everyone bring food based on a theme. Good Luck!

pimps and hoes
toga party

20's gangsters, any decade really, tacky party, casino, luau, masquerade, blacklight, western,

Even if you pick a destination and theme your party off that it can be A LOT of fun. China, Japan, Australia, Europe, Vegas, etc., etc. There's so many ideas out there.

I recently went to a party that was a lot of fun. Everybody came wearing a BUNCH of different colours. I had a pink shirt, purple pants, blue and green socks, etc., etc.. The idea is that you have to trade clothes with other people at the party the whole night. The goal is to be a solid colour by the end of the night. It was really funny. You'd need quite a few people at the party though.

Have everyone come as a popular movie character - but no one is allowed to come as The Crow or POTC pirate since it's been way overdone.
