How much food for 25 adults and 6 kids?!

Question: I am having a birthday party for my son and I'll be having 25 adults and 6 kids. It's 2-5 in the afternoon, so I was thinking pizza and appetizers (meatballs, cheese dip, pigs in a blanket, fruit & veggies, spinach dip, etc). How many appetizers and pizzas should I get?

You will want to allow 3 or 4 meatballs per person. I would not serve both pigs in a blanket and meatballs, but if you care to then allow 2 or 3 pigs per person. One large fruit tray and the same for a veggie platter, 2 batches each of the two dips (do NOT set it all out at once!) and something cheaper to fill in.

Since this is a party rather than a meal, you can cut each large pizza into 16 slices instead of 8. Allow 4 or 5 pizzas of various flavors.

all people eat acc. to their needs.if u want answer u should ordered 18 pizzas & 15 appetizers

Caterers sometimes use this idea. Put a plate on the table and imagine the food going on it. How big an item is and how full the plate will get. Work it out for a typical adult- then scale up to the numbers. Add a little extra as you don't want too little. Then do the same for the kids.
You can't say how many pizzas, pizza can come any size and who knows how many slices you cut? And the age of the kids changes things too.
I would go bread sticks like baguettes sliced up and buttered because everyone seems to enjoy them. I would get 3 biggish pizzas but cut them criss cross into squares so there are more pieces but smaller. You know your friends and what appetizers they like, I would go some sliced meat in a couple of types, some olives, sliced raw vegetables and 2 or 3 kinds of dip, and some nice cheese. Some fruit too and maybe a bowl or two of nuts and dried apricots or similar. Plus tomato sauce for your meatballs. Not everyone will like everything, but everyone will like something.

As someone who has orchestrated events for up to 600 people, we allow for 2 1/2 pcs. of pizza per person, and 2 pcs. per person for Hors D'ourves. I almost always have leftovers, but that's OK with me.
