Picnic ideas?!

Question: I am looking for any ideas of yummy food to take on a picnic.

It needs to be cold finger food. I am hoping to do something a bit more exciting than sandwiches and fruit.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

Something a little different I always make to take on a picnic is zucchini slice and a quiche slice. We also take cold bbq chicken and salad stuff like coleslaw, potato salad and pasta salad.
Instead of apples and other fruits. try some summer fruits or exoctic fruits such as mango, apricots, grapes, blueberries, raspberries etc, and make a small fruit platter.
I have also been known to take a cheese platter with dry biscuits and dips. this makes for a light quick picnic snack. I still take a long bread and spreads for people who feel like a sandwhich.
Theres so many things you can take for a picnic especially when you are after cold finger foods and provided you take an esky and keep it cold, you will have a lovely picnic.
Hope this helps.

snacks= melon slices,watermelon,honeydew,cantalope
meal= fried chicken ( even kfc-in micro and a lot of paper towels )
same as above=salads coleslaw,potatoes,fruits(alway's )
wine, (beer ! depends on your bo!!!!!) juice,or jus water......
don't forget some sweet's
jello

then some more beer !!,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hee,heeeeeeeeeee!!

You could pick from some of the following: cold fried chicken, tuna, chicken, shrimp or turkey salad with crackers, cheese cubes. Prepare broccoli, carrot sticks, bite sized strips of celery and bring a creamy dip. Make a cold soup that may be served in covered cups. Create an interesting salad such as spinach or sunshine salad. Bring pudding cups or cups of applesauce. Add some small rolls to the basket. Make rolls of thinly sliced roast beef and secure with toothpicks. Pack some condiments such as a spicy mustard. Throw some hard candies into the basket and don't forget lots of napkins.

spinach rolled sandwich.... still a quasi sandwich but more interesting...
buy package of spinach tortillas, add whatever you wish inside, use a tangy salad dressing instead of mayo, roll, slice either in half... or in 1" sections....

-or how about ready made sushi... lots of types to choose from.... all vegetable , cooked, shrimp, etc....

-add some fresh strawberries dipped in chocolate on kiwi circles (toothpick them together)... works as fruit and dessert and it's pretty

-bottles of mango/banana juice or green tea or anything else you might like...

both things easy to eat, not messy, don't need plates if you don't want to be bothered...

yum yum....cold pizza.....lol

lasagna or baked macaroni, baked chicken, barbecue on a stick, leche flan for dessert, ceasars salad and cold beer or brandy
