There's a beautiful cake here with flowers that look like hibiscus.. they're made of dried pineapple, and they are so pretty!

of course you could use any kind of cake, just frost it and put the flowers on top. Here is the recipe for them:

you could also dye them with food coloring mixed with water, and make them red or pink.
Or you could make a cake that looks like an island, or has an island on top, with beaches, and palm trees, and shells made of piped frosting.

Also, you could make a cake with sand out of granulated brown sugar, and blue water out of icing, rafts made out of gum, beach balls made out of gumballs, etc. and design it yourself!
I work at a bakery and they've done alot of hawaiian themed parties. I found a picture online of a pine apple cake. It looks like one but it doesnt have to be pineapple flavored, a popular flavor is white cake with rasberry jam, bavarian cream, and whip cream or maybe even chocolate cake with cookies n cream filling! Anything! Just check out the local cake places near you and show them the picture :O)
