Ideas for a white mischief party theme - what to wear?!
For evening wear the dresses at his time were surprisingly naughty...flowing and often cut on the bias so that the fabric clung, low in the back and almost as low in front, thin straps and nowhere to hide a bra' ; elbow length gloves in silk or kid, a silk shawl or wrap and an evening purse to match the evening sandals. It was actually pretty sexy stuff but the trick to being a lady in those days was to wear it without appearing to realise that is was sexy and to flirt without seeming to know that there were such things as bedrooms..unless in the semi-privacy of a very intimate group of "friends" of course.
Answers: The English, being English, made surprisingly few concessions in their wardrobes to the fact that they were living in the tropics..men wore suits to go into town or to pay social calls, complete with shirts and ties..unless they had to wear uniform of course; the long shorts and loose shirts outfit was worn privately, on your own land and for overseeing your workers in. Women wore stockings, slips and camisoles under their loose day dresses; when away from their own homes they also wore straw hats, wrist length gloves and unfailingly carried handbags..light colours and floral prints, silk and fine cottons by the way.

White BUNNY outfit, Tail and stockings to match!
A tiny white thong and nothing else.
Or am I on the wrong lines?
Edit - Well if that's the case then I wouldn't bother ;-)
"jock and cheerleader"
Just a pair of odd socks
That's what John Hurt said anyway
white mischief is usually based around colonialism in the 30s/40s... tea dresses, safari suits or even jungle animals. Colonial soldiers etc. There's a myspace group about the white mischief night in london you could have a look at for inspiration....
petticoats and linen suits
