Do you think this is an acceptable dessert for my guests??!

Question: I have guests coming over soon and I plan to cook a beautiful meal from my ethnic origin..I do it best..the only thing is the main meal is rather heavy and I would like only a very light dessert for my guests..so instead of cooking a pudding/ dessert, I was thinking of serving a fruit platter with the option for them to have some icecream for dessert or some mint tea/ coffee. Do you think this would be ok ?

chi shom dorost mikoni? Khoresh? I'll be right over!Just kidding.
I think fruit is a great idea too. Don't forget anar! They make the best dessert with chai.
Man Irooni nistam, my husband is. Man farsi ye kami balad, I have to teach myself ba ketab o internet.
mitunid be man farsi yad bedi? Ye kam, lotfan???

it would be fine

yes, what time is dinner and do you want me to bring anything? .... maybe a New Zealand white wine like Mudhouse

It's not just ok, but very very thoughtful, and sweet of you!

Sounds good to me. Ice cream is a good idea.

Also, maybe you could have a plate of chocolates for any guests who have an after-dinner craving for some....

I think it sounds wonderful! A light dessert after a heavy meal is exactly what is called for in my book! I think I would even forget the ice cream and offer just the fruit to make things easy for yourself since you will be cooking such a large meal. The hot tea sounds so soothing and relaxing and will encourage everyone to sit back and chat. Is there room for one more guest? hahaha Have a wonderful evening with your friends!

Sounds great. You can add a fruit dip if you wish..there are many online made with yogurts and other ingredients that are very light or you can try this which I did post one other time...
one 8 ounce package of cream cheese
one large container of marshmallow creme/fluff
about a tablespoon of vanilla extract
Have cream cheese at room temperature and then beat until creamy, add marshmallow creme and vanilla and beat until fluffy.
I put in a nice bowl in the center of the fruit platter and a little container with toothpicks next to it.
Enjoy your dinner party!!

I think that would be perfect.

sounds very nice - you got room for one more ?

I think that sounds like a nice/healthy compliment

I would always far rather have a fruit platter after a nice meal than anything else
and even guests who would expect a "pudding" will find this deliciously refreshing after their main course

enjoy!

sounds delicious!!!

OF course...it's up to you and it sounds appropriate.

Excellent idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sounds good to me and it will be light as a heavier pudding might be too much for them...

Yes, it sounds like a perfect dessert after a heavy meal.

it's perfectly fine, and even better than a traditional dessert

yes it will be nice

i think it will be great i like that u are having some options for them hope your party gos well! :)

Ya. that would be great. & it is very light.
