I am throwing my son a first birthday (in-door pool party). Any ideas on favors, decorations, food?!

Question: I am renting the pool for an hour and 1/2... Then I will rent a small room for snack and cake.. ideas?

Finding Nemo :)

If your son loves the pool, then this is a good idea even though others are telling you it's not. Just have a few people... Maybe 4-5 kids... that will be enough to have a blast.

Pirates! *theres a ton you can do there....

because of the weather..maybe a hawiian theme is in order?

>>I have girls..so their first party was princessed themed LOL

He's one and you're throwing a pool party? Lots of one-ies running around an open pool? interesting

favors: CPR breating masks
decoations: plaid pool cover
food: edible life vests

OMG...make sure that somebody is designated to diligently watch/lifeguard as you will have a lot of distractions.

its a first b-day so hes turning 1. i would do little things that he likes cars.deago. little boy thing.

if he is turning 4,5, or 6 do he favourite character or toy and base the party on that

ocean animals all kids like pizza

A pool party for a one year old. I don't think he will remember much about it. If your thinking water, why not a fish theme for decorations and soft foods (fruit and snacks).

i was watchin the Tyra show & i saw the cutest theme ever...
"1derful" get it? aww....lol
& she jus had a couple of big painted boxes that had bows so they resembeled presents as decorations,
then she had a few bubble makers which seemed to really keep the kids entertained along with a few kiddisg games such as a pinata.
& of kourse the food was really colorful & all finger foods.a lot of fresh fruit.she had this fruit salad that was in the shape of a rainbow.
it was really cute.you should go to the tyrashow.com & download that episode.well goodluck, hope he enjoys it.make sure to buy extra floaties for the little ones who dont have anything cause i can bet u a lot of parents wont bring 1

My daughter just turned 1 on the 20th, as did two of my other close friends daughters. so we did em all together at pizza hut. There was no room rental fee, it was just pay for the pizza's. it was quick and easy, pizza cake presents and thanks for coming. then on her actual birthday we just had family meet us at our favorite mexican restaurant for dinner. next year she will start to get it a little more, but first birthdays really are for the parents making it through the first year.

make it quick and simple. at his age too much stimulation can be hard for him to handle, make sure everything goes smooth, but quickly. you are dealing with a short attention span, and a little one that can get worn out quickly.

congrats on making through the first year.

Try using what ever his favorite is. Like my neice was really into dora. Just go off what your son likes and have fun.

POOL PARTY man make sure the water is less then a foot deep and finger sandwitches

Honestly, I think this is a horrible idea! WAY TOO Dangerous and your little one won't even remember what is going on. Trust me, I have 3 kids and I know how exciting it is to throw a huge bash because he's your first. But water, and small children is just not a good idea! If the outcome of the bad out ways the good, you might want to think twice about it! Good luck!

Go to a party store and get plastic fish bowls and plates and have a fish theme. For snacks for maybe any older kids that go you can have cheddar (or any flavor) goldfish and swedish fish.
