What are the best bets for party food? (besides chips!)?!

Question: for simple beer and hard drinks type of parties... would anyone suggest great finger foods that are easy to make and easy to enjoy as well?

NACHOS!!!! everyone loves nachos.
Nachos in a big dish with grated cheese on the top. Melt it in the microwave. A tub of sour cream sauce then a whole tub of salsa. Messy but great to get stuck in.

Chicken Wings

small coktail sandwiches like beef or turky or chees nothing fancy

chicken

chipolatas (mini cocktail sausages). everyone loves them. their always in parties on cocktail sticks. i have failed not to see them at a party yet.

Shrimp! Better yet, bacon wrapped shrimp brushed with BBQ sauce. So not all that great for you, but it tastes quite yummy with a good beer!

Stromboli is really easy to make. And if you need more than one, they sit well out on the counter covered with a slightly damp towel. There are a ton of recipes out there. I buy pizza dough, roll it out thin and lay on 4 slices each proscuitto, capicolla, salami and sandwich size pepperoni and mozz cheese. Roll and bake seem side down at 350 for about 1/2 hour. Cut little slits in the top before you bake.

Knorr's spinach bread dip. The recipe is on the back of the box.

This sounds nasty, but it's really good. In a pie pan smoosh in 2 soften boxes of cream cheese, pour on a jar of salsa and bake at 350 for about 10 minutes. You just want it hot, not bubbling. Serve with torilla chips. If you can find the scoops even better.

Also, grilled or broiled chorizo. It's delish!

here are some of my top favs to make for parties:
a bag of frozen meatballs and one pkg little smokies in crock pot with one can jellied cranberry sauce and one jar chili sauce- perfect for the "meat dish"
veggie tray with spinach dip
taco dip is always the first ot go at my parties- mix 2 pkgs cream cheese and one small tub sour cream with 1-2 pkgs taco seasoning- spread on tray or large plate- top with lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, black olives and green onion- serve with good tortilla chips
different cheeses, sausage with crackers
tortilla roll ups- mix one pkg cream cheese, one pkg powder mix of Hidden Valley Southwestern seasonings, one can chopped black olives, one can diced green chillies- spread onto tortillas, roll up, secure with toothpick- put in fridge to chill and make firm before slicing into rolls- serve with salsa on the side
taco cups- take biscuit dough and put one in each section of muffin pan, spread dough up sides as much as you can- put one spoonful of taco meat or sloppy joe meat into each and bake as directed on biscuit pkg. top with shredded cheese towards end of baking- top with toppings like sour cream, jalapeno peppers, olives- whatever you want
check out the freezer section too for appetizers: egg rolls, pizza rolls, jalapeno poppers, breaded mushrooms, mozzarella sticks- stuff like that you can make during the game and bring out nice and hot!

Here are some of my great dip recipes - they are all fantastic and easy to make!
