Why there are always red (sometimes blue or yellow) cups at college parties in US?!

Red Solo plastic cups have become synonymous with underage drinking and binge drinking in the United States. Although ostensibly first used as a more discreet alternative to simply drinking beer straight from the can or bottle or in a transparent cup, today a red Solo cup, especially in a collegiate setting, is considered more likely to contain an alcoholic beverage than not. Solo cups have become the cup of choice for Beer Pong and Flip Cup on college campuses. It is not clear why red cups are used with such disproportionate frequency in this context, even though the cups are produced in other colors.

cuz nobody wants to be bothered with washing glasses or picking up the broken ones after the party.
If you're asking why they use plastic cups instead of formal beer glasses, etc...it's because glasses are expensive, and get broken/stolen/lost. Plus nobody wants to clean them.
If you're asking why they use those particular colors, probably because that seems to be the most common/popular colors on store shelves, at grocery stores!
because they are cheap, hold beer, and don't break!! they are also necessary for beer pong... a popular college drinking game in the USA.
Go try to buy some green (or orange, pink, etc) plastic cups in bulk and you'll quickly find out. Solo cups has the market dominated in their traditional red, blue or yellow.

Because they are color coded by size and the red color is always the size people enjoy and also the most popular and they are cheap.... And college parties are not formal nor expensive... just bring a keg of beer (it′s cheaper) and put some music... that′s all you need for a party...
