How can we update the Disney theme to suit an 18th birthday party?!

Question: I'm throwing a Disney-themed 18th birthday party for my friend. I want to keep it fun and light-hearted, but not too kiddy. Any advice would be really appreciated :)

hmm.. this is hard, especially for an 18 year old. My best friend LOVES Tinkerbell, so for her 22nd birthday i did a whole tinkerbell theme kinda thing. it was really small but she loved it. it also came out kiddy like.

instead of doing the "heroes" of disney, what if you did the Villians? i think that would be one way of making it more "adult like" it would be darker in colors and darker in feeling. you can do thinks like having Snow White tied up, or a lion rug of Simba.. i now its a little twisted but if you do it right it could come out really neet!

Do a club remix of all the songs ;) Nice idea too!

Hope your friend is immature for their age!

Why don't you try a disney disco?
like get everyone to dress up as there fave
character and then put on some upbeat tunes
or even some karaokie to the best disney songs.

Or even if she loves high school musical make your backyard into Lava Springs and have a pool party

Hope This Helps :D

It sounds kind of silly for an 18 year old's party. Are you sure you want to do this? If so, go rent a Snow White outfit and have her wear it. She will be embarassed but who cares? She will be embarassed with a Disney themed 18th birthday party anyway.

I love the theme!

how about a high school musical theme, as the person IS in high school, turned 18, and it it part of disney? honestly, there is nothing uncool about that! the hit tunes from there are a good choice. and if its a girl throw in a couple of zac efron lookalikes :d lol

I am 18, I did a Disney party in halls, kept it simple, dress up as a disney character, and play disney music all night long.

You also have Disney cups for them to drink out of and stuff.

It was fun :P Plus you play drinking games and stuff so it's not kiddy, just people dressed up as disney people.

I just picture a kind of toned down costume party, all the girls dressing up like their fav princess and the guys as a prince.

But don't go overboard. A very nice cake is probably all you would need to transmit the theme.

I really like the villain idea Icy has.

Great idea!

For me, I would go with naked princesses!

why update it?? disney never fails. my mate threw a disney party for 18th, with no modifications. it's not kiddy its nostalgic! perfect, plus the legalised drink-ige so enjoy!
