What is the best ever dish to bring to a small casual gathering with kids?!

Question: Peanut Butter Balls
Yields 75 balls

3 cups powdered sugar
2 cups peanut butter
3 ? cups rice crispies
1 stick butter (softened)

Mix above ingredients and form into balls. Place in freezer for at least 10 minutes (I leave mine in overnight).

8 oz semi-sweet chocolate bar
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
? slab paraffin

Melt above ingredients together. Using 2 forks roll the balls in the chocolate mixture. Place back in freezer for at least 5 minutes. At this point I put mine in zip loc bags and leave in freezer (they defrost quickly, and they taste great frozen as well).

If you can find almond bark, it works fine, and check at Sam’s for Candiquick. It works great and comes with chocolate and vanilla.

Home made macaroni and cheese, ice cream treats of some sort. You can even make home made ice cream sandwiches. ( Chocolate cookies with cookies & cream ice cream). Brownies or home made cookies. Fruit salad or fruit kabobs stuck into half a melon. Nacho cheese dip with veggies, black olives and corn chips, seven layer dip with corn chips.

My mom used to make this for parties:

Go to walmart and buy a plastic pail and shovel (like the kind you buy for sand castle making at the beach....)

Make chocolate pudding. Mix in crumbled Oreo cookies, and throw in a few gummy worms and throw it all in the pail. Serve with the shovel.

Cute presentation, and kids love it!

rice krispy treats... easy to make, store well, easy to transport. for variety - try mixing in smacshed hard candy, or either peanut butter or chocolate chips when stirring in the cereal. another popular thing is brownies, also easy to make transport and store. for real food try pasta, like beefaroni, that you can mix up at home - if you are in a hurry here is the cheater's recipe:
brown one pound of ground beef while boiling one pound of elbow or spiral noodles. drain each well. mix together in large bowl. add one jar ragu or prego. mix very well. either add grated cheese on top or mix in when stirring.

definetly chips with salsa, guacamole and seven layer dip. the kids loveee it. but i suppose it's all based on taste.

some desserts might be popular, too. i wouldn't suggest ice cream or popsicles because of the cold weather....maybe sugar cookies or brownies or something.

CUPCAKES
Mac N Cheese
Beenie Weenies ( baked beans w/ hot dogs chopped up in it)
PB & J Finger Sandwiches
Chocolate Pudding
Pie and Ice cream
Mashed Potatoes

I really depends on the Occasion, and The kids.. there isnt much information to go off of in your question.

Kids go crazy for pizza! Everyone loves crispy fried bites. I'd make Pizza Won Tons. Here's the recipe I made up that is a fav:

Saute minced Italian sausage (or pepperoni or ground beef) with minced garlic, onion, green bellpepper. Drain fat. Add some spaghetti sauce (I use Prego) to moisten (mixture should be very chunky). Then, add some shredded mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese. Let mixture cool, then fill won ton wrappers. Moisten edges with water and seal, forming a triangle.

Deep fry. Serve with more spaghetti sauce.

Everyone will rave!

If you don't want to make anything fried, then another one of my kid-friendly favs is a pizza casserole. It's just ground beef, ground Italian sausage, onion, garlic, green bellpepper (you can add pepperoni) with Prego sauce then mixed with cooked penne or macaroni. Layer this noodle and sauce mixture with shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Bake until bubbly. Never any leftovers. And so simple.

As for dessert, the kids always love churros. They never expect it at home, only at fairs or at the mall. Make mini ones. Good recipes on allrecipes.com or foodtv.com

Have fun!
