21st Birthday ideas... What to do. Besides throwing a party.?!

Question: My Birthday is May 21 and I'm turning 21. I wanted to know what I can do to make this birthday memorable. I haven't had a birthday party in about six years. And I didn't have a good 16th or 18th birthday. Please give suggestions and websites. Thanks!!!!!

Wow, I wish I were 21 again!

Sweet 16... not so good for me either! What I've learned, over time, is to make every day a celebration. You're not there yet, though...so here is my suggestion:

Only invite people you really want to spend time with. Don't invite anyone out of guilt or a case of the "Ihaftas." (I hafta invite Aunt Ingrid or she'll freak..." "I hafta invite Uncle Ingmar or I won't get a big check.")

Decide why 21 is a big deal - are you "really an adult" or "legal to drink?" Celebrate whatever aspect of the birthday thrills you. Do something that symbolizes it - jump out of a plane, swim in a waterfall, go to Paris...whatever works for you!

You should also have a plan to live out the dream -- whether it's getting a job and moving out of your parents' house or just getting drunk whenever you want (hey, everyone has her own dream)...and be ready to work toward it.

Finally, don't dwell on the number or prices of gifts. They say more about the giver than they do about you and who you are...or even who you are to the givers. You'll be cool.

go to Vegas!!!

go on a bar crawl, and make sure you tell the bartender it's your birthday....you'll get a free drink everywhere!

Rent a limo and gather some close friends together.
We cruised around Waikiki and stopped off at several bars, ran in and took a shot, then ran back out. It was too much fun. We ended up at an artsy bar with a blind piano player, and drank the rest of the night for free. Well, we DID have to dance hula for each round. The only hard thing about it was trying to stay on our feet and not on our butts :D
What more could I have asked for? OOooohhh...the memories.

Forget the party, you'll spend too much on others and not enough on yourself. Pick a BFF and take a trip somewhere: Fun in the sun; Skiing...etc. Go party somewhere else.
