I need help in planning my son's 1st birthday party!?!
Our small apartment isn't big enough to host the party here, and we don't feel comfortable asking someone else to host it at their house, for fear of someone getting their feelings hurt. Are there any suggestions as to where we could host a part of this size, that isn't designed around older kids? We were thinking some sort of restaurant, but not fast food. And Chuck E. Cheese seems like it's for older kids.
We want it to be special and enjoyable. We want to have a meal and cake and balloons. Nothing fancy. I've tried reading up on places, but it seems like the places suggested are made for older kids to enjoy.
Please help!
Answers: My son's 1st birthday is Saturday, March 15th. I would like to invite our families and a couple of close friends. Doing a quick count, there would be 20 adults (couples) and about 5 kids. All these people are important in my son's life and he is familiar with them all.

Most large restaurants have an area for birthday parties and do not cost extra..call your favorite ones and ask if they have a room big enough for your guests..be sure to tell guests if they are expected to pay for their own meals.also a larger tip for the waitstaff is usually added..Be sure to bring your own cake and a balloon to put on the back of chairs for each child, and maybe few small toys for the kids attending to keep them happy while sitting there..
city park?? w/ benches & picnic tables
What about a banquet room at a local restaurant? Your son isn't gonna care where you are.
umm, try just going to a restaurant where they got a recreational center for the young ones. there mostly adults so theyll most likely just eat and chat among themselves.
Try a local park. Just make sure it has a covered area so if the weather is bad you all have shelter. We did my daughter's party at a park and it turned out great. Good luck and don't stress.
i say you should go for chuck e cheese because its for kids of all ages!! my nefhew had his first party there and there is a part that is for toddlers it has alot of barney and stuff of that nature!! good luck hope i helped
do you know anyone else in an apartment complex that has a party room you can rent out?
otherwise check into your local park pavilion buildings- they rent them out and some may be cheaper than others based on the small amount of people you will be inviting. then you bring in your own food and drinks- decorate however you want and you'll be in a park where maybe you can all go sledding together and back to the party room for some hot cocoa!
there really isn't too much out there geared towards toddlers...maybe the YMCA has a room you can use- or your church, Elks lodge halls????

They have really cute invitations and you might find a cute theme there as well. They also do custom designs if you don't see what you're looking for.
