it's not a celebration

I want a funeral cake! a pink one, covered in creme eggs!! oh and every1 who comes 2 my funeral has 2 wear pink and drink tequilla rose!!...oh that morbid note i shall go 2 bed! lol

Due to the fact that most cakes are synonymous with happy occasions, most people feel that a funeral cake would be a little misappropriate given the sober and often sad occasion.

My last funeral, there was cake at the wake, but it was a simple pound cake type thing, undecorated.

Cuz people aren't happy about funerals.

Cakes are for a celebration, I dont' know anyone who's celebrating at a funeral.

Have you ever had a cake at a bier festival?

its hard to celebrate a death

when m gran died she had one at the thing after the funeral

unfortunately peple look at funerals as the end of an era and 'celebrate' it as so, when in fact it should be a celebration of a persons life - why not do a cake with their favourite football team?? that'll strike up a great conversation and before you know it everyone will be talking about how much the deceased person loved his/her footy..... happy memories will be brought up and people will then celebrate that persons life...

Strange isn't it?
Nigella Lawson's book "Feast" covers all sorts of events and there is a funeral section where she has "funeral food". Dunno if she does a cake though

Because we have the baked funeral meats. Traditionally.

More than likely there will be one soon ,when someone in the business reads your question .
Personally i wouldn't buy one,

Because cakes are baked for celebrations

I think a cake is the last thing on families minds.
