What's a good dessert to make for a Superbowl Party?!

Question: Our family is hosting a Superbowl party, and I'm in charge of making the dessert. What are some creative and tasty ideas that I can make? Thanks!

all the above are great suggestions. i would like to suggest a jello cake. make a packaged yellow cake ( in a square pan) make a small box of red jello, strawberry or raspberry. punch holes in the cake with a large chopstick or use a knife. pour the hot jello on the cake making sure the jello gets in the holes .refrigerate till jello sets 2- 3 hours then for the frosting top with cool whip. good luck

cupcakes with football icing yum or make something with the colors of the team you are rooting for Good Luck ?

A cake!! Then you can write in frosting " Super Bowl 2008" or "Go Giants" or "Go Patriots"

Cupcakes! Cake! Banana pudding! Basically any treat that many people can share.

A pie!

cheese cake

Cookies or brownies>.

brownies!!!!!!!!!!

we have having brownies w/vanilla ice cream and maybe I will make a cheesecake, but those really need to be made a day before

Maybe buy or bake, a football shaped cake or cupcakes!!!, Or maybe something like that in honor of Football or the SuperBowl!!!!

two dozen cupcakes! they're a blast to decorate. you can write "go pats/giants" on them individually, or write it out across a few cupcakes. also, you can probably find some red, white and blue sprinkles. or, you can use frosting to draw little footballs on them. have fun :D

DIRT PUDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ingredients:

gummy worms
pudding
oreos

directions:

pour pudding mixed with gummy worm into a bowl then sprinkle crushed oreos on top.

I would consider making Brownies or a Football Cake! Thats really YUMMY!!!!!!!

Depending on how many you are having...
Since this is THE day, IMO you waited too long to begin. I would have made my dessertsyesterday, Or earler and frozen some of them.

NOW, what I suggest is that you make as many brownies as you can get done before the game starts!!!! That will probably put you into having half them done by the time your guests arrive...

IF you are having a small crowd, here's a really easy cobbler recipe; but it will depend on you having the ingredients on hand at this late date, and how much time you have.
Don't know WHEN you posted the question, but I am only seeing it on the day of the game!!

Using the largest baking dish or pan you have... Melt enough butter to completely cover the bottom of pan WELL.- I have an industrial size pan and it will take at least 4 sticks... You can use oleo, but butter is much better...
Mix equal amounts of self rising flour and sugar. (How much will depend on the size of your pan...you need one cup each for a 9 X 13) Add enough milk to make the batter the consistancy of thin pancake batter.... You can use pancake mix for this but keep in mind that it already has a sweetener and adjust the sugar accordingly.
Pour the batter over the melted butter -still hot- in the baking utensil... Put any fruit you like on top of this-- apples, peaches, berries.... I usually use canned fruit in natural juices....If you are using fresh fruit you need to prepare it by adding a small amount of sugar and bringing to boil in water... Enough to cover the fruit. Here again, how sweet your fruit is may mean you need to adjust the sugar in the flour mixture. Do the taste test!!! On top of the fruit pour the juice from the can (s) or the hot broth which you made by boiling the fruit. Bake at 350 degrees for at least 35 min... longer if it is a large container... The batter will rise to the top.. I like mine really brown, but again, you can adjust it and how long you leave in the oven depends on personal taste and how hot your oven actually gets.

Whenever I am in a jam I revert back to old fashion comforts. My absolute favorite is double chocolate brownies. They are so easy to make and if you have a piping bag and some moderate patience you can make little football shapes on top.
