Answers: can you post some finger buffet ideas for me please!!

thankyou

For my moms 40th surprise party i did:

Pizza slices
Quiche
Breaded chicken nuggets
Vol o vents
spicy chicken wings
Selection of crisps and nuts
Finger rolls with various fillings.. cheese, beef, turkey
Sausage rolls
Cheese n Pineapple
Samosas
Selection of cakes
Gateaux

I catered for 35 and it all pretty much got eaten, hope this helps!!

Crackers and Cheese. YUM!!!

Pizza,Chicken,Burgers, Fries,Fruit,Veggies,

Beer, beer, beer. Oh, and beer

I just had a Super Bowl party-yesterday and the biggest and easiest finger food hit was the 4 ft sub. It was only about $50 dollars and I ordered a special half italian, half turkey-it was great-get some potato salad at the deli and set up a design your own hot dog area too-those were the most popular/ People just want to grab something portable and you don't really need to use silverware. Just plates and napkins.

Pigs in a blanket
cucumber sandwiches
pepperoni dip
Spiniach dip
Veggie tray
Cheese tray
crackers
Chips
pretzels

small sarnies, sausage and cheese rolls, chicken legs, mini queche's, volevonts, cheese and pickles on sticks, most freezer shops have little plater things you can buy, but i just pinch the ideas and make my own.

bite size quiche, hot wings, pizza, stuffed mushrooms, finger sandwiches, veggie platter, fruit platter, and finally, I used to take pillsbury bisquits, and cut them into two pieces and wrap a little smokey hot dog into it. then you bake per the directions on the bisquit package, and viola! pigs in blankets, yummy to serve with a chili to dip into or mustard.

I think Crudités would go down really well. Some raw slices of carrot, red, yellow and green peppers would be great. Sophisticated dips will be impressive; something tomato since it's the in vogue power food and of course guacamole always goes well. Thousand Island dressing is always a winner too.

Don't know what country you are in but for a laugh and good memory food what about school dinners i.e spam fritters, corned beef hash, burgers in gravy, alll good cold, as served al la school dinner ladies!!!! Spotted dick, jam roly poly and the ultimate luxury of caramel squares with lumpy custard!!! Post more details if you want a 'proper buffet' I was just thinking of a nostalgic theme :-)

A cheese board and nice crackers
Cocktail sausages, pineapple and cheese on sticks
cold pizza cut into small slices
Lovely fresh crusty bread with butter
Pate
Assorted open sanwiches dressed with lettuce, toms, cucumber and cress
pork pie
quiches
sausage rolls
Pickles
olives
bread sticks and dips

Happy 40th. All that talk of food has made me hungry

smoked salmon and soft cheese rolls. won tons
dim sum pate vol Au vents .poached whole salmon. whole gammon ham decorated .chicken so many ways to do drumsticks thighs in spices or herbs all ways a good choice .lots of cheese and crackers. quiche pork pies pasty,s. curry, salads .cakes and fancy,s .crisps and Doritos,s with dips .taco,s sausage on or off sticks. olives salami a whole host of continental meats. seafood .nuts Bombay mix. one of them hedgehog things not the animal but a cabbage covered in foil and all sorts of food on cocktail sticks stuck in to it looks like a hedgehog well maybe after a few scoops of the amber nectar just use your imagination loads more you can use

How many people are you serving and are you planning on making the buffet yourself?

quality is always better than quantity!, pick a theme and stick with it.....
example Spicy Theme
Pakoras & raita dips
Samosas & chilli dips
Spring rolls & sweet chilli dip
spicy chicken wings
chicken satay sticks & peanut butter dips
If you go for this one, a good sweet idea would be fresh fruit kebabs.with greek yogurt on the side, it cools everyone down!
thread pineapple, melon, stawberries etc onto wooden skewers and to keep fresh if preparing in advance, leave them in a dish that you can cover them in fresh orange juice. and just take them out and put them on a serving platter when the buffet is being served.

Finger sandwiches- Chicken, ham, tuna, egg salad
Assorted vegetable & cold cut platter. Shrimp cocktail platter.
Cheese plate with crackers- paired with some wine.
Cold salads, pasta, potato, garden.
Chips & dips
Crock pot stuff like mini meatballs, kielbasa, baked beans
Cookies, brownies
