Party for 13 year old boy?!

Question: Hi We are having a party for my son turning 13. It will be at a civic center and we will have a DJ. It's going to be on the 16th of Feb and I was thinking decorate Mardi Gras Style. We can't hang anything on the walls or the ceiling. Is this a good idea or do you have any other ideas? What food should we serve or have catered..sub sandwiches? Ughh don't know what to do and my son isn't much help!

The long sub sandwiches are good, Pizza is always a must. Snacks like chips, pretzels, cheetos. You can lay out Cashews or whatever your favorite nut. Hershey's mini chocolate bars, Soft Pretzels with mustard or cheddar melted cheese. Boys pretty much like the junk food. :P You can even have them make sundaes to eat, by getting ice cream with various toppings you can put into bowls and they can put whatever they want on their sundaes.

Hope the party is a blast! :)

Now you can't go wrong with paninis as finger foods and it is a nice idea to do a mardi gras theme but have a theme that he really likes.Unless he likes the theme.

Did you know that Mardi Gras is the 5th Feb this year and means 'Fat Tuesday'?

13 year olds usually love themes. So go for some thing he likes you can usually bet that his friends like the same thing such as WWE or soccer or footie etc.

One rule of thumb is that a teenager likes trash food - so don't try to be too adult - also simplicity is the key. It really is more about his friends and to be honest they really won't notice much of the hard work you have put in. Pizzas and burgers are good for 13 yr olds - avoid cold chips (fries) but serve lots of crisps (chips) LOL. I know I will get slated for saying that; but think back to when you were 13 and what you liked to eat?

Good luck on the night but don't fret too much over it.

here are ideas others have done http://www.teenpartyideas.com/
