I need help with birthday cake ideas!?!

Question: My daughter is going to be 2 on the 22nd, we're having her party the next day. I have the food and place down. All I need is help with the cake! What are easier - cupcake cakes or cakes? The kids will be 5 and under. What are some good websites or places where I live (Austin Texas) that I can go to? Any info is appreciated - I've just spent two hours on google with no luck!

Google Charm City Bakery for some ideas. This is the guy on the Food Network show "Ace of Cakes". He's really talented and the pics on the website might give you some ideas. Happy B-day to your daughter!

make cup cakes and arrange them in the shape of a flower! pink frosting for the petals and purple for the center!

I believe that a B-Day party without a cake is not complete! I don't know if there's Albertson's in Texas but they have some really good cakes and fairly inexpensive! Plus you can go right in and ask all about them they're great! You might want to do a cake not too big get cupcakes too! Kids love it and trust me it all goes! Godd Luck and Have fun!

Buy one of those cupcake tree holders. They are really cute when you have the cupcakes in there. You can do all fun designs on them, floral, different flavors, colors, butterflies, etc. My son's favorite candies are M&Ms, but he really favors yellow for some odd reason, so for his, I made all the cupcakes with a mix of the colors of M&MS, but for his 1 cupcake, the one for the top, I put only yellow M&Ms on there, covered the top with them. He loved it.

I think mini-cupcakes would be easier for the little ones to handle and less waste if they don't eat them.

Color them differently and arrange them in a cute design like a flower or a butterfly. You can also buy little toppers if she has a favorite character.

I think a cake is easier. I've been through eight years of birthdays so far...and I like cakes. You can go to your local grocer, they have books with cake ideas. Or your local hobby store. And there's always Walmart!

make some little icing bits and shape them into a object she likes...make shure they're the right colour though!

for kids that old I would go with cup cakes :) just make something simple, like chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting. Sorry I love chocolate :)

make simple cupcakes, one batch chocolate one batch vanilla. that way everyone is pleased.
anything fancy won't be apprecitaed by 2 year olds.

i'm not really sure of a good place to get one. but, does she like any shows or anything? that would be the theme to go with for the cake. i personally think the cake would be better than cupcakes. cupcakes can get messy with little kids, and you can't eat them with a fork. whereas, cake you can.

As lovely as cupcake cakes can look I don't think you can beat a pretty birthday cake for your little girl!

Take a look at this page of gorgeous princess fairytale castle cakes!

Imagine the photos of her face lit up blowing the candles off one of those beauties!!

It will also be lovely for you to spend the time making the cake.

Whatever you decide to do i hope she has a lovely 2nd birthday :)

Sam's Stores have good inexpensive cakes. They decorate them, so she can have something she likes on it. Jewel's food store can even put a picture of her on it. Can you imagine the fun when she sees her picture.
