I need some ideas for home made decorations for a fairy, pixie and pirate party. Any ideas?!
Check out http://www.groovy-kids-parties.com/fairy... - there are heaps of ideas for decorating a fairy party, party food ideas and free fairy drawings to print and give out to the kids.
Answers: Hang lots of pink and white balloons, tinsels and stars around the party area. Go here for a great fairy cake recipe with photos http://www.groovy-kids-parties.com/fairy...

Hmmm sounds really nice~!
i would hang net all around the ceiling and put fairy dolls, ribbons, balloons and glitters everywhere xD and make posters and wear costumes!
Sounds gay-how about a drawing of the Village People.
PIXIE/FAIRY- use tissue paper in bright colors and make huge tissue flowers, so they make the kids seem smaller at the party and more PixieLike.
Fold six or seven sheets of tissue into a large fan shape. Lay a Pipe Cleaner across the middle of the fan, and twist it around. Then fluff out the papers into a 'flower' (kids can make these too)
Cut out large hummingbirds (foam core is better than oaktag and more stable) and butterflies
Hang birds etc from fishing line, so they appear to 'float' (string is invisible)
Use green tablecloths, and sprinkle 'fairy dust' (paper confetti)on the tables. Serve pink punch and butterfly shaped cookies. Or make Flower cupcakes (frost cucakes green, use a wide icing tip and colored icing. Hold tip in center of cupcake, and squeeze and pull to the outside edge. Use colored NonPariels or unwrapped Hersheys Kisses as flower centers)
For balloons, try a few Mylar flower or Butterfly balloons. For balloon weights, use small statuettes of fairies from the $ store OR tulle circles with gravel in them.
Have the gals make 'fairy wands', use dowels pre-wrapped with ribbon, use sticky-back foam to cut stars and hearts from and sandwich one end of the dowel between stars or hearts. You can staple trailing ribbons to the wand.
If the girls are older, they can plant a few flower seeds in a little pot as take-homes. Also, older kids can use glitter on art projects.
I admit, I do not know the difference between a fairy and a Pixie. Sorry.
PIRATE-
take a few minutes to print up some old-looking maps and yellow them. Cover with clear ConTact paper and you have pacemats which are also take homes AND a game.... a treasure hunt! Give out a few different maps and split the kids into a few teams (3 different maps= 3 teams of kids). The treasure map will lead them to different places where you hide 'Pirate Booty' (a hat, an old key, a Jolly Roger flag etc). The last thing they will find is Treasure (gold-wrapped chocolate coins and candy jewelery and ring Pops). There is a Treasure for each group, so everyone wins.
Give out red bandanas and eyepatches. Put Jolly Roger (Skull & Crossbones) flags up on the ceiling, so they hang down and catch a breeze. Make a cheap Parrot out of Paper Mache, fill it with candy and have a Pinata.(Pirates like to smash things LOL)
Use fake gold rings (party aisle of the $ store) as napkin rings.
String Mardi Gras 'JuJu' beads on the wall, table tops etc.
Use gold-colored paper plates and cups. Serve 'Blood Punch' (Just Fruit Punch or Fruit Juice that you add red food coloring into.) or Orange Juice to prevent Scurvy. LOL.
Frost cupcakes light blue and add little dashes and an X (as in X marks the spot) on each cupcake. Or make 'Dubloon' Cookies (frost round cookies in a goldish-yellow, add the word Dubloon to each with a writing tip and icing)
I Hope this helps, I have never planned a kids party, so I just thought "If I was at a Pirate Party, what would I want?" LOL

glitter everywhere! (for fairy dust). Also, have everyone make a magic wand at the party. Hang stars from the celing by string or ribbon.
