Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club. I'd go with any of the great John Hughes movies of the 80's and work around that. Oh Yeh, Some Kind of Wonderful.

Also, there is lots of great music from the 80's - have a costume contest and set up a karoke machine loaded with Bangles, Madonna, Go-Go's, Bon Jovi, early Van Halen, Blondie - tons of music to choose from.

Remember Florescent Colors, bangle bracelets, penny loafers, and big hair and big earrings. I like all the ideas about the music and movies, Madonna, Prince and Def Leopard were some of the best.
