I remember it in the reverse, so I looked it up. According to www.chefalbrich.com, both are right. It used to be more common the way I know it, it is now more common the way you mentioned it. I think the best thing is to do whichever you choose consistently. (Check the website for more details on the logic behaind each practice -- to long to copy here).
