I need some suggestions please... My kids, ages 7 and 5 have a valentine party at school. Everyone brings...!

Question: cupcakes, cookies and browinies. I would like to take something different. I need something that is somewhat simple to make since I will need about 70 of whatever it is, but different. Remeber this is for classes of 7 and 5 year olds, so it must be something that kids will enjoy. Thanks in advance for all the ideas. 10 points for the one I choose to use.

That's a good recipe. And if you want to cut sugar you can use sugar free jello. Have a great party!

Are you in the United States? If so, you know those yogurts in a tube called Go-gurts? They are SO good when they're frozen, and they don't make any mess. Also, they do have sugar, but they're not going to have the kids bouncing off the walls or anything.

You can maybe make a punch or provide homemade fudge or candy. You can buy chocolate molds at a Michael's or Walmart.. Also you can make something like a bar cookie, granola bar or even mini dirt cakes... which is like chocolate pudding, and chocolate wafer cookie crumbs on top and you can add a flower for the girls and a gummy bug for the boys. Martha Stewart's www site has a lot of great ideas for entertaining with kids. You can also make finger sandwiches either PB & J or like raisin bread w/cream cheese... or something like that... Good Luck.

Homemade valentine chocolate suckers or take two cookies and put icing in the middle and roll the edges in valentine colored sprinkles. You can even use the place and bake valentine cookies they turn out pretty but would get expensive it you have to do that many. You can also take pretzel rods and dip them colored chocolates and sprinkles wrap in a pretty valentine bag.

baby carrots or string cheese. there's going to be so much sweet stuff, the kids probably need something to cut the sugar. my kids are 8 &5, and they love them.

Instead of a "sweet treat" could you bring a valentine pencil or stickers for each child. Try a Dollar Store, Walmart or a party store.

You could also use a heart cookie cutter to cut out heart shapes from bread slices. Make small heart shaped sandwiches. They could be filled with anything from peanut butter to ham and cheese.

Or get some small valentine theme party cups (4 oz. or less)
Put peanuts, pretzels, raisins and just a few candy hearts in each cup.

Or, make pink popcorn balls.

you should make homemade rice crispies ! there sooooo good ! & then put pink & red m&ms in em to make em look fabulous !!!!

make rice krispy treats

My daughter like rice krispie treats with themed sprinkles in them. You just make as directed and as your finish up stirring add your Valentines sprinkles. They are pretty and most kids like them. (you can make them colored too, just add a few drops of food coloring with the marshmallows and butter)

My son on the other hand likes jello and whip cream. You could do red jello in a cup with whip cream on top followed by sprinkles or a cherry.

well i would suggest hot chocolate, i am not sure if you can bring drinks but if you can that would be good, also red yogurt (for valentines day) Carmel popcorn, or really different quesidillas
