Its my cousins sixteenth birthday and I have to make a welcome speech...?!

Question: Im the MC for our event, so I'm going to be welcoming the guests. I'm also going to be saying some stuff about him. I need a good way to welcome the guests. I have the body for my second speech, but do any of you have a good idea on how to start that speech off? Thanks for any advice!!

Start out by how much you have fun with him or how much you used to not like him, and then tell how he grew on you. Say that you are so excited about him turning 16, say that now he can take you places like the mall or to a friends house and kind of joke around like that.

If you have the speech about him then that is the most important thing.

It is just the hello ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, gals and dudes, ......wherever you want to go.

Thank you for coming to this.....................for ................... on his 16th birthday etc etc......main speech.

Could include information ...i.e. on food and entertainment.

If you know the people, warm up the crows-the old line" is anyone from out of town ?" works--then ask who they are? have them introduce themselves

Then intro the guy in flowing twrms as you can

good luck

Open with the funniest story about you and him. Something like. "Thank-you all for coming, You know, when I think about my cousin "John" I can't help but remember when we both went to the...and he....OMG! it was so funny!..Anyway..."
Something like that. Humor is a great way to break the ice. Tell the funniest story about him..but don't embarrass him.
