Need ideas for Decorating themed brunch table, using Saturday Morning Cartoons as a theme.?!

Question: I am hosting a table at a Ladies brunch, I was thinking of using a theme of Saturday Morning Cartoons. Serving Cereal with toppings like berries and such. I am looking for decoration ideas, cost is a BIG issue so cheap, or easily made things would be great! I am planning on trying to get huge bowls and maybe little plates in primary colors, I just need a center piece and little decorations.

If you are thinking like Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner, and easy centerpiece would be paper towel rolls covered in red tissue paper, tied together standing up like the ACME TNT used in all cartoons, get some red orange and yellow pipe cleaners and the colored wires with the stars on them, glue them inside the middle of 3 of your "dynamite", you have an "explosive" centerpiece. Spongebob would be easy too. Fishbowl in the middle with colored rocks, a cheap goldfish, blue tablecloth, seashells for decorations, a stuffed Spongebob, maybe even a sign that says "Welcome to Bikini Bottom". I dont know if these help, just some stuff of the top of my head.

Check out the dollar store. And look in the birthday isle at somewhere like Wal-Mart where they have kid and cartoon party favors, plates, cups etc...

Balloons and crepe paper can be cheap and can decorate an area colorfully and cute.

Do you have a 'Party City Store" near you? They carry all! You could easily get the centerpiece there.

the table cover could be a collage of the Sunday newspaper cartoon section... and cover it with a clear plastic.. so it won′t get messed up...
the centerpiece could be a simple stuffed cartoon character with balloons and paper ruffles around it..
or it could be something more elaborate, like a portable TV on top of a small DVD player, playing Saturday morning cartoons...

have fun..!!!

You could use the comics pages from sunday papers for table coverings - just tape several sections together and lay out for tablecloths. They are bright and colorful, easily disposable and you won't have to worry too much about spills. They are probably close enough to your theme that you could get by with them.

Or you could buy a few inexpensive comic books and take the staples out of the center. Use each unfolded page for placemat for each setting. This would work better with a bright, solid color vinyl table cloth.

Hope this helps
