Accompaniment for Lamb Tagine?!

Question: I'm holding a dinner party soon - one of the main dishes will be lamb shank tagine (and chickpea tagine for the vegetarians). I'm going to do a coriander/lemon Cous Cous to go with it, but can you suggest what else might go with this? The Tagine has apricots and dates in it, but no vegetables. Would a salad to go with it be enough do you think?

sounds really good to me; were in agadir some years ago;where we tried this dish ;we had lots of fresh salad ; tomato;s etc fresh dates; mint tea , and of course plenty of fresh fruit .that should do the trick ;bon appetite.

definately, a radish, cucumber and tomato salad with a garlic and lemon dressing would be delicious

I would use green beans with it.

Great idea with the cous cous. Whenever I cook lamb tagine I serve it with a big salad, often with a simple balsamic dressing. If you're worried that you don't have enough food on the table you could also have a bowl of rustic bread or french stick??
Have a lovely paty!

oooh it sounds lovely, can i come? you could do crusty french bread and salad

I would do like the other person suggested and add green beans as well as a side dish and a greek salad is always great with any lamb dish.
