What does your company do for parties and socials?!

Question: I'm on the awesome activites committee at work (sarcasm) and I need some ideas for things to do this summer. Does your work do anything really fun? OR what are some things you hate? Let me know if you've got any ideas! Thanks.

We hire a professional magician! It's terrific! We get people who specialize in walk-around magic; someone who has experience with all the age ranges we're inviting.

For sure have a picnic at a local big park where there are BBQ's. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, soda, cupcakes. Have games like the potato sack race for the adults and kids (make sure you play this on grass not cement). If a park has a small baseball field, play softball or maybe volley ball or soccer or kick-ball (it's baseball only you kick a soft rubber ball and run to the base's). Maybe the company could hire a clown and make those balloon animals. Bobbing for apples is fun (and refreshing on a hot summer day). Prizes could be given to the winners of the games like a free pizza, or a gift card to a movie theater.

my dad always threw a great christmas party for us, we had lots of long tables set up and decorated pretty, then had a nice caterer come and set up the food table, having 2 or 3 main dishes to choose from plus 3 or 4 different side dishes and salad and cheesecakes.
Sometimes we would have musical chairs, which I had never thought of having adults play that together but it turned out to be really fun, the 1st runner up and winner would win great prizes.....or 2 yrs we did karoke. Maybe sometime you can have an open bar, if the company permits, have 2 drinks per employee be free then they have to pay for the rest.
I guess it somewhat depends on the budget and rules. bowling is fun too.
Have fun!
