Peanut, canola, or vegetable oil would work well. At Melting Pot (amazing fondue restaurant) they make a 'green goddess sauce' which is sour cream & fresh chives. It's great with the vegetables. I put it in mushroom caps, batter, then fry them in the fondue oil, Yum!

Canola or vegatable, do not use olive oil it has a low burn temp.

I like to make a sauce with fresh or dry dill to taste, mixed in some sourcream with a little lemon juice..(everything is to taste) very good on chicken or beef.

We've done a cheese fondue before, good fun to begin with, but you have to have the meat pre-cooked and you get sick of cheese sauce real quick.
Canola or Vegie oil is best! You could even have one for cooking some vegies in! mmmmm... fondue!

Most meat is fatty and has natural oils so don't add too much. You are better off using Extra Virgin Olive Oil and toss meat in it before cooking.

vegetable or peanut or corn

USE CORN OIL
