I think, because you are doing something for your 11th birthday, it shouldn't be as extravagant as going to a spa. I think that you should do something simpler, something that won't break your parent's budget.
How about going to a movie, and then going on a mini-shopping excursion? If you want to keep with the spa theme, why don't you set up a "spa" at your house?
Those are just a couple of ideas. :]
Just have a sleepover! It will be really fun! Get a good movie, do makeovers, have loads of snacks like marshmallows, strawberries and chocolate. You could theme your party.
My suggestion for a theme...
Pink!
Check out the zoo, or have the zoo come to you! Lots of places have exotic animals they can bring to your home to display. Or check out an indoor pool, some even have waterslides nowadays. The spa is fun too, but you should decide for yourself since it is your party, you should do what you enjoy. jus make sure its cool with the parents before you tell your girlfriends!
find a libby lu near u! that's like a spa but probaly costs less. then after that have a themed birthday sleepover.
If you like the idea of the spa then go for it. However, many of your friends may not be as into that type of thing. Maybe something a little less dramatic. From the website I looked at quickly it looks like maybe it's quite a commitment for your friends to make cutting hair and all. Maybe you could get the same effect but have more fun doing it all yourselves. Buy several (or if you are like myself you already have plenty) colors nail polish, get a foot tub. Do more of a hands on and don't be afraid to get a bit silly too. Do each other's make up and hair. Then wash and start again. It would be less cost on your parents pocket too.
On another note you could always plan something fun outdoors too. Don't know if you are close but the beach is always a successful party. Party games are an important part of the party. Especially at this age. My kids always loved the party games and you can always give them a little something for playing.
