Question: Dim your lights for the majority of the event then turn them up. You can also have light music playing in the background, and turn that off. Also begin cleaning up.

Tell then you have an appointment (or work, or task) in the morning.....
Or be honest and tell them you really just want to get laid :)

When inviting them, specifiy a time frame.

"You're invited for dinner and drinks on (day),(date) from 7 - 10 pm" (or whatever time you choose).

Let them know that you have to "call it an early night," as you have important personal errands to take care of in a timely manner the following day. Thank them graciously for visiting and assure them you will have to get together in the more immediate future when you have more time, as you enjoyed their company.

Get up, yawn, stretch, and say "C'mon, honey, let's go to bed so these good people can go home."

My daughter went to a birthday party where the mother at the end of it got up and said thank you for coming, please drive carefully.

Since it sometimes takes a while for people to leave, you might want to end it a little earlier than you really want them to
for example if you want it to end at 8, end it at 7:30 and it will take some time for them to leave because they won't leave at exactly 7:30 right?

fall asleep while they are there, and wait for them to leave :]

say that you have to work in the morning; or pretend to get a phone call and say u have an early start in the morning
