I'm planning a Wedding Rehearsal Dinner for my son, his bride and about 20 guests. I would like to host it in!

Question: my home but some friends have suggested having it outdoors. The bride originally wanted an outdoor wedding reception but it didn't work out. What do you think? Is an outdoor rehearsal party appropriate? It will be in early September. I know it's a way off but I'm a planner by nature. Indoors or out, what kind of menu would you suggest the night before the wedding?

If ur gonna have it outdoors, which would be so good, do a grill out

Get chicken and marinade it with whatever u feel
Then get some finger foods like an Antipasto platter, melon balls with prosciutto, and maybe a nice leafy salad with a light dressing.
And try these limoncello cheesecake squares for the dessert (Link included).

ANd good job planning ahead....It always works out in your favor!

I would say weather cooperating that an outside dinner would be great! As for the menu it would depend on what kinds of things the couple like. I would say bbq/grilling would be a blast.

Go for outdoors, but have an alternative to rain. If at home, 25 doesn't sound too many if your house will hold em.

We did a Cajun boil for my son. And it is fun for the guys that way. Just have all the stuff ready to go for after the rehearsal. It is cooked pretty fast if you partially pre cook the potatoes and onions by par boiling or in the microwave, then hold them covered in warm oven during practice.

It is really casual and informal way to breakdown and enjoy the time yourself. People really enjoy the food too...especially the shrimp, getting up to your elbows in it! And NO DISHES...Just plenty paper towel rolls. You serve the food, poured out on the center of tables lined with $ store disposable plastic picnic cloth, covered with layers and layers of newpaper...and Have plenty bottle drinks on hand, soft drinks, water and beer if your fam imbibes, served on ice in say a kiddy pool, stock tank, or big shiney galvanized wash tubs.

If you want I can send you the recipe for it. Good luck!

I think having it outdoors is a wonderful idea, especially since they didn't get to have their wedding reception outside. If you have a big enough yard you could still have it at your home, I'd just rent a big white tent and put it up. It would probably be more expensive than having it inside, but it would also be very memorable and special!

how about a fun get together barque but make it classy. Have survers there to hand out food and then have traditional food. It will be fun and then you can have a little sitting area surrounded by white curtains and table with white table cloths and colorful flower arragements. have flowers every where ad in bright colors. Orange, pink, and you can even get them died blue and green and colors like that.
