Cocktail Party? PLEASE HELP!?!
Also, DECORATIONS?
What do i do for decorations? Because there is no special occassion. I'm simply just throwing a girls cocktail party.
I'm so stuck. I made these fancy animated ivitations and sent them out via email like a week ago. Everyone is talking about it and i feel like they are gonna be disapointed. SO I NEED TO MAKE THIS GREAT!
Please someone help with a fine menu and some decoration ideas. I HAVE 2 WEEKS TO PLAN IT
Answers: Okay so i have already asked this question but i didnt exactly ask the question properly. I decided to throw a cocktail party for all my 18 year old girlfriends. I am expecting about 20 girls. The theme is just 'COCKTAILS' and i want to provide everything for them and make a drink menu. I can't figure out how much alcohol i will need or how many drinks to provide (not including non-alcohol drinks). I was thinking of having catagories in the menu like "shots" and "Cocktails". I'm so stuck as to picking the menu. I want something easy and affordable too.

It does sound like alot of fun and I HATE to even say this at all...
but PLEASE Make sure EVERYONE stays at your house that night!!
If any one of these girls drives and gets caught...its your a$$ or whoever is providing the alcohol CAN GO TO JAIL.
I know...I sound like a *****..I dont mean to be...
the party sounds fun..just have people stay instead of driving anywhere!!!
For decorations I would make it pink and black...pink and black crepe paper. Get balloons of that color too. Sparkly confetti to put on the tables!
whatever you do...make sure you have plenty of little nibbly foods for everyone to eat.
20 people drinks...depends how much your friends drink...hopefully not TOO much otherwise it could burn a hole in your pocket... get stuff like tequila, cointreau, baileys, fruit juices, lemons, limes, coconut milk/cream, rum, vodka, ginger ale, fizzy drinks...plenty of ice
*1/3tequila+1/4cointreau+1/3lemon juice+egg white <optional> = margarita
*1/2baileys + 1/2cointreau <small glass>= orgasm <well that's what we call it>
*coconut cream+ pineapple juice + rum = pina colada <add some sugar syrup, can also make non-alchoholic without the rum...just as nice>
*shot of vodka + squeez of lime + top with ginger ale = good
as for decorations go down to your nearest fabric shop and get some black & white stuff...cheap but looks nice stuff. and if you've got christmas lights or something like that put them round the place.
have a look round on the net for some drinks you could make.
hope you have fun!

Some cocktail Drinks suggestions:
? Cosmopolitan - A fun, pink drink that was popularized on the HBO series Sex and the City.
? Dirty Martini - Don't worry, you won't need to wash after this drink. But with the addition of olive juice, this drink has a salty bite to it.
? Chocolate Martini - This drink has special appeal to anyone with a sweet tooth. But it doesn't look like what you'd expect.
? Apple Martini - I don't know if this would count toward your 5-a-day fruit and veggie requirement!

Hope this helps… have a Blast at your cocktail party :)
First of all you're not old enough to drink! However, perhaps its being supervised and/or you'll be drinking anyway.
Make a great sangria with lots of fruit - it looks so fancy. Serve it with Martini glasses, shot glasses, champagne glasses, etc.
Make a few Tapas....look online, there are millions of recipes! and serve them with crackers, pitas, pretzel sticks, etc..
And you've actually set the theme...espanol!
Have fun!
Well providing alcohol for 20 people is going to be quite pricy. I would suggest having a signature cocktail, a a few bottles of red and white.
For decorations just dim the lights and have a ton of candles around in clusters. Just hit the dollar store. Oh, don't forget your bathroom, nice soap, towels, scented candle, full roll of TP and a box of tampons under the sink just in case. Believe me with 20 women 1 of them is bound to need it.
I am not sure about your friends, but most 18 year olds don't have really refined palates, so I would go with old favorites kicked up a little. Instead of pigs in a blanket, broil up some chorizo and serve it with sliced baguette and mustard. Instead of nachos make crab qusadillas. Shrimp cocktail always goes over well. Generally I broil about shrimp I have rubbed in seafood seasoning, it's slightly spicy and serve with pineapple salsa. Another really easy thing is a try of sushi.
Oh, and have a DD. I won't preach, but you or your parents (whoevers house it is) is liable for any underage people in there and their actions.
If it is a cocktail theme party why not have a beach type theme and have drinks like margarita's and dacqari's (spelling??) You can find the way to make them on the internet. For food just have a lot of finger type foods and veggies & dips. Funny the number of people who assume you are underage for drinking. In Canada the age is 18 or 19 depending on the province you live in so you are of legal age to drink.
It's always fun, and less expensive, to serve one signature cocktail. For instance, if it's a cold night, you have have hot buttered rum. For a celebration, a champagne punch. Frozen drinks are always a hit - lot of fun to make, to serve, and to drink!
Make sure that you also have non-alcoholic drinks on hand for your guests. Keeping a pitcher of ice water with lemon full and available is a nice touch.
