The decorations will mean more to you than to your son. Does the club have some type of food service? If not, you can order sub platters and have pizza delivered. As for decorations - you can go lots of directions. If you have old records, you could hang them from the ceiling. Check out local party stores - you could go Hawaiian, Mexican, western, 50's, sports. Have you asked your son what he would like to have in the way of decorations? 2 weeks is plenty of time. Don't stress over it!

Hire a pro for catering and decorations.

Well, I would look at the clothes he wears and what takes up a lot of space in his room so that you theme it accordingly -DO NOT DO A 50's PARTY! Since he booked a "club" and DJ...stay simple with decorations. The club should have its own ambiance and should reflect what he likes - he picked it. I would only add things like plates, napkings and a tablecoth for the serving table if necessary....a simple HAPPY BIRTHDAY decoration will do.

Food: Get a 6 foot hero, a bagel wheel, KFC with coleslaw and buscuits..........nothing that needs to be arranged. Pick up and go food.

First thing I would do is contact the club. A lot of clubs don't allow additional decorations if they have to be glued, taped or tacked to the walls. They might also have a vendor list that they work with. Rental places are quite picky.

First thing to do is to contact the club to make sure that the dj your son picked is okay'd by management, alot of times clubs or places that can be rented have a specific vendor list you can work with and thats it. Also ask management about decorations, if they are allowed, if they are allowed make sure you can use tape or tacks to apply them. Talk to your son and see what kind of food he would like then get what he wants since it is his birthday party.
