You can make fettuccine..add some butter, about 2/3 a tube of garlic paste (found in produce area), and a bunch of grated Parmesan cheese. heat and mix together.
I also bake some boneless &skinless chicken breasts rubbed with olive oil and pepper at 325 for 15 minutes on each side. Then I cut them in half and put in a sauce pan. Add a jar of pesto, put a lid on it and simmer until sauce is heated..add some grated parmesean cheese, replace lid and let it melt....Add salad and dinner is done...
You can make all of this in about an hour or less...

well, here are some ideas:

meat loaf
mashed potatoes and gravy
spaghetti and meat balls
stroganoff
vegetable stir-fry
lasagna
chicken and dumplings

when all else fails, noodles with butter and cheese is super yummy! add a little garlic powder and it's even better :)

Corkscrews with Vegetables and Mozzarella - - Fusilli Con Verdura e Mozzarella

Corkscrews with Vegetables and Mozzarella, or Fusilli Con Verdura e Mozzarella: Mozzarella is one of the most refreshing cheeses there is, and works very well with grilled vegetables in this sauce. The recipe calls for frozen grilled vegetables, which will greatly reduce the preparation time; you could also buy grilled vegetables from your deli. To serve 4 you'll need:
INGREDIENTS:
A scant 2/3 pound (250 g) corkscrews
6 ounces (150 g) frozen grilled bell peppers
4 ounces (100 g) frozen grilled eggplant
4 ounces (100 g) frozen grilled zucchini strips
1 clove garlic
A small bunch of parsley
4-5 fresh basil leaves
5 tablespoons olive oil
A small hot pepper
1/2 pound (200 g) fresh mozzarella, diced
Salt to taste
PREPARATION:
Dice the vegetables and let them thaw. Set pasta water to boil.

While it's heating, mince the parsley and shred the basil leaves. Combine them in a large bowl with the diced vegetables, the mozzarella, the olive oil, the clove of garlic, crushed but left whole (If you want a more garlicky result, mince it), and the hot pepper.

Season to taste, mix well, cover, and chill lightly.

When the pasta water comes to a boil salt it and cook the pasta. When it reaches the al dente stage, drain it and cool it quickly by running cold water over it in the colander. Stir the pasta into the vegetable-and-mozzarella mixture, check seasoning, and it's ready.

Pasta is nice and romantic, how a vodka sauce though? It is easy to prepare and tastes wonderful. I use a recipe from Rachel Ray.

There are two kinds of meals you can make for your man - the first is a meat and potatoes, the second something lighter.

Here are some options:
Spagetti and Meatballs with Red Sauce:
Meatballs:
Take one container of ground meat. I use the lowest fat content. In a med. saucepan, add 1-2 chopped cloves of garlic, 1/4 minced white (sweet) onion, and either of the following - one celery stalk diced or 1/2 pepper (green, red, yellow - whatever you either have on hand or is cheaper) and add to one tbs. of olive oil. Cook until soft.
Take the one container of ground meat mentioned above. Add two eggs, italian seasoning as you would like - I like to use fresh basil sliced and fresh dill diced. However, I add thyme and oregano, too. Use whatever you would like. Once the veggies and garlic have cooked, add it. I like to use a package of "onion mix" by Knorrs (or McCormick, etc). Add breadcrumbs to make until not sticky. **I dont use a lot of crumbs. However, it is up to your taste.

Then make them into "balls". I use my hands. Then lay them on a PAM sprayed sheet or a non-stick baking sheet. I use tinfoil to cover so that there isnt much clean up. Place the balls on the sheet.

Meahwhile, heat the oven to 350.

Once all the balls are ready, heat them in the oven from 20-30 minutes depending on your oven.

SPAGETTI: Cook according and drain according to the directions.

SAUCE: use a base of a red sauce out of a glass container. My favorite is Clasico. Use whatever is on sale. Heat it up; add some of the same fresh veggies - onion, garlic, celery, peppers - as well as a lighter fluid. I use fat free half and half. However, if you want to - use heavy cream. It will taste delicious either way. Finish the sauce with some Parmesean cheese.

Add the pasta to the sauce, toss in the meatballs.

THIS WILL BE A PLEASER

**Remember, that you can make extra meatballs and store them in the fridge. I would recommend this because it takes a lot of work out of the next time you wanted to do this.

Mushroom Chicken and Roasted Potatoes:
In a pan, combine Cambells Cream of Mushroom (to be healthy, you can use the 98% fat free kind - honestly - not much of a difference) to an equal amount of milk, half and half, heavy cream or FAT FREE HALF AND HALF (or low-fat milk). Put this in a pyrex pan mixed.

Take 4 defrosted breasts of chicken - you dont have to use breasts, you can use your favorite piece of chicken. Place on top of the liquid mixture.

HEAT oven to 350. Cook from 30=40 minutes. Serve over rice if you like. I like this seperate and served with ...roasted potatoes!!

Potatoes:
Take some Yukon Potatoes (4 large or 6 meduim) Skin them. Slice them thinly. Season them with 2 tbs. of cumin, 1/2 tsp of the following: salt, pepper, season-all-salt (you can leave this out), dried or fresh chopped parsley; dried or fresh dill.

Heat the oven to 425. Oil/PAM a tinfoil sheet. Place the mixture on top; turn every 15 minutes until desired texture.

sounds like marconri cheese. a little bland. chicken breast with a nice stir fry. or seafood pasta and a green salad.

i think the pastawould be good but you should add some like grilled chicken with capers for flavor and for desert you should make a small cake with a scoop of ice cream with chocolate sauce drizzled on the top!

all guys like steak =-)

Pasta is always a quick and easy choice, cant go wrong! I would add some shrimp or chicken to it, some garlic bread and a glass of nice wine (of if your underage some sparkling grape juice).

An ice cold beer and yourself. that's all he will need.

My favourite simple date dinner:
A selection of cheeses, biscuits and fresh breads and some good wine. No cooking, but it always goes down well. Pasta with butter and cheese sounds a bit bland to me, but that's my personal opinion.
For dessert, I usually do a chocolate fondue- but I cheat. Spoon some nutella or other good quality chocolate spread into a bowl, heat for just a few seconds (not long) in the microwave, and then you and your man can dip strawberries and other fruit and bits of cookies or cake into it.
Simple is the best!

sphagetti....
