Any OUTRAGEOUS appetizers?????!
Thanks so much guys!
Answers: I am having a surprise party at my house for a family member and I want some new easy and delicious appetizers. Nothing to fancy.......it's a jeans and t-shirt kind of thing.
Thanks so much guys!
Ok, I made this up for a new years party and it was a big hit:
BBQ Chicken Pizza
Poach a few boneless chicken breasts and sliced red onion in half chicken broth and half water at medium heat for an hour or so (until chicken feels shred-able) When done, remove the chicken to a plate to let cool. Reserve about 1/2 cup of the cooking liquid. When the chicken is cool, shred it with two forks or, better yet, your fingers. Place back in reserved cooking liquid. Add 1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce, a teaspoon or so of honey, some garlic powder and fresh cracked pepper. You can also add hot sauce to taste if you like things spicy. Cook over medium low until the sauce is slightly thickened.
Now, bread choice is up to you. You can use sliced French bread, Italian bread---I found some great ciabata. Slice the bread into portion sizes of your choice, brush with oolive oil and lightly toast it. Then top with some of the chicken mixture and some shredded sharp white cheddar. You can broil it to melt the cheese or stick in a 350 degree over for about 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and slightly browned.
Even if you don't end up making this, I hope you have a great time at the party!
bacon wrapped scallops.

This is so easy. Use softened cream cheese and wrap around a green stuffed olive. Then roll them in chopped pecans. Chill and serve. People think they are divinity candy, and they get quite a surprise. My family has them at nearly ever family gathering.
Shrimp stuffed with provolone and wrapped with Bacon, then you bake it till the bacon is 1/2 way done, lightly brush it with teryaki sauce then finish baking till bacon is cooked.
Hot Clam Dip
1/2 to 1/4 pound sliced or canned mushrooms
4 t. butter
3 8oz. packages cream cheese
3 cans minced clams, drained
reserve juice
saute mushrooms in butter, heat mushroom mixture, cream cheese and clams until cream cheese is completely dissolved, put in to fondue pot or chafing dish and serve hot. use reserved juice to thin if needed.
