Special birthday??!
i'm not the richest person in the world; actually im not rich at all! so i need to have REALLY good party favors that are not expensive...know any websites?
what are some ideas of how i could decorate or set things up (6 girls including myself are going to be there)?
what i really want help with are the party favors; they can't be babyish...i was thinking something personalized (or more than one personalized thing)...
and i really liked the way blair waldorf in gossip girl had her sleepover; if u know anything about it, could you give me tips on how to make it like her (if u know anything about it)
Answers: its my 13th bday (im a girl) and where i'm from, its kinda a big deal. but so many ppl r jewish, so they all had MASSIVE bat mitzvahs...i'm catholic, so i'm just having a sleepover. i want it to be really good though (kind of like blair waldorf's from gossip girl; i want it to be high-class).

Well, I missed that movie "Gossip Girl", but perhaps you should rent the video and take notes! And, please remember, she probably had a bigger budget then you do, so keep in mind what you can afford. Plus, I'm a big believer that girls turning 13 should create their own special birthday bash that's unique to them! Here are some ideas, for what they're worth:
1. Create a "tent" in your room. Perhaps you can afford material that you can fasten at the ceiling in the middle and drape around the room to form a "dome" like ceiling. Using your favorite colors in see thru material might get you an effect you'll enjoy.
2. Candles and small lanterns add to special effects too. And, don't forget those little white lights we all have from Christmas! They look great around windows and in plants!
3. Flowers! Lots of them!
4. Have each girl bring a number of pillows and blankets so that you can create a "lounge" area.
5. Music: have a cd player on hand and have each girl bring something they really want to play. Plan on dancing!
6. Food: Finger foods: pizza bites, buffalo wings, carrot and celery stix with ranch dressing, mini hamburgers, lil smokies in bbq sauce, chips and dip, brownies, cookies and a great cake!
7. Favors: you can either make your own favor bags or purchase premade ones. Another idea is to use oriental take-out containers that are very popular. If you make your own, consider using netting or a gauzy fabric in a variety of colors. Things like fingernail polish, lip gloss, eye shadow, gift cards to Starbucks or the movies or even a favorite place to eat are always nice. Another idea is to purchase tiny pots and include a bag of seeds and some potting soil for each girl. The idea is to watch a friendship grow (or something like that)
8. What to do: Hit the mall! Start by having makeovers at the local dept. stores, then hit the jewelry center (Claire's is inexpensive and fun), take in a movie and lunch at the food court.
Remember: you only turn 13 once! Invite people that love you and really want to celebrate your special day....regardless of how its decorated etc. This isn't a competition. And have fun, birthday girl, you deserve it!
