Do you like Dinner Parties ?

I've always enjoyed throwing dinner parties. When I was a teen I worked as a waitress and saw how much people enjoyed being waited on and treated special. As I grew older I realized how much I enjoy it as well. I take every opportunity to provide a fun time for friends to relax and not worry about preparing dinner or paying for it at a nice restaurant. I go all out with my parties as well, starting with appetizers and ending with coffee, cocktails and desserts. I try to have most things prepared ahead of time so that my guests don't feel the need to offer assistance. I remember one memorable occasion, I prepared a clambake for my grandparents after being told that they had never tried lobster. I went all out and invited the whole family (about 15) After the meal was finished my grandfather pushed away from the table took off his bib and said "never had lobster before and don't care if I ever have it again". I laughed till I cried. He wasn't being mean, just old and honest. I loved cooking for them and my parents when they were living. I used to prepare special dinners for them all and deliver them, just call ahead and tell them not to cook it was on me. Sorry to ramble on but you asked, and like my grandfather, I'm just being honest.

yes i love to as long as its down to earth simple food...i am from the south so we are moreless southern style cooks...thats pretty much all i know

I do enjoy cooking a lot, but never really tried cooking for friends and family a lot. It's fun and the most fun part about it: When you screw up you'll find a reason to laugh.
About what I like to cook, it's normally sweet stuff, eg. mousse, cakes etc.

Absolutely, my home is always the family gathering place. We do fried turkey and pot luck. For Easter we will have the whole family at least 75 people.

I enjoy cooking simple meals for my girlfriend. When I'm home alone I tend to just heat something up to help soak up the beer so I don't get too drunk.

But when she comes over I'll make stuff like:

steak tips and rice pilaf
chicken tacos
spaghetti and homemade meatsauce

I really enjoy doing it and she enjoys watching me.

I love cooking for my husband, granted it is just me and him, but I enjoy making something from scratch and then watching him enjoy. When we have friends over we usually get a big party sub but I always make potato salad, it's the best potato salad. It's a recipe my mom taught me and everyone loves it, even when i go to my dad's for the big family holiday parties, I am always asked to bring the delicious potato salad.

I love cooking for my friends and they love eating it or so they tell me!!! I used to work in a latin american restaurant as the 2nd chef so i do a mean fajita party. My all time fave though is Greek food. Last night i did my friend and i Greek meatballs and cous cous with tzatziki and pitta's. I always make more than i need and freeze the left overs as i live on my own and i have a ready meal in the freezer then. At the moment it's full of meatballs as i made hundreds!!

I love cooking,,, but hate washing up...

YES I LOVE THEM!

I love cooking for family and friends. We love it most in the summer when we can all get outside and cook on the grill and let the kids run around in the yard and play. We all get to acting like kids then. I'm not very favorable for dinner parties, because we like to entertain where everyone can feel at ease and dress as they want.

Yes I do as long as is my closest family and best friends

I love cooking for family and friends, especially if they like it and compliment me on it later. It's very rewarding to see people enjoy something you made for them.

My wife does not like my cooking and I don't like the way she washes dishes. So, I wash dishes and she cooks. I have tried cooking , the results were flames and a lot of smoke. Ha ha

Oh certainly !!! I would cook anything from Chinese to Italian. Just as long as I am sure that they will enjoy the food.
And the problem is I would always ensure that they have enough to eat and ended up telling them to bring home leftovers. Anything that I learn how cook I will show off immediately and call everybody up for the weekend lunch or dinner. Dinner parties are ok, but I do not like the formal sit downs. I also used to have barbeques alot when we lived in a very big house with a big compound. All my brothers and sisters would invite their classmates along no matter whoese birthday it was. It was so fun and warm. We were always anticipating the event. Times have changed, now its so difficult to have everybody home at the same time. They are busy all the time.
