Need Help! What to serve...?!

Question: We're having a bbq at my house on Saturday and I was going to beef kebabs with mushroom rice. Unfortunately I served that at the last bbq we had and five people from that event will be there on Saturday. I don't want to serve the same thing. We're doing steak, but I can't think of another few side dishes to do. Potato salad? Broccoli Salad? BLT Salad? I'm still going to do a veggie, but need another side (or two). Help!

Cole slaw and potato salad. That is what I get asked to make all the time.

german potato salad, aspagrus with garlic and dried cranberries...good luck!

Grilled Zucchini seasoned, brushed with olive oil and sprinkled Parmesan cheese on top when done. Risotto goes nice with steak or a nice salad.

Baked beans or grilled corn on the cob
Grilled fruits

baked beans poatoes salad slaw

a greek or cesar salad will do well
corn bread
corn on the cob

Potato Salad
Baked Beans
Corn on the cob

Pasta salad is always a good bet, throw in some pepperoni, chucks of cheddar cheese, brocolli, carrots, tomatoes, anything really! Make sure you let it sit for a few hours for the noodles to soak up the dressing.

roasted corn on the grill with honey butter made yourself or maybe some chipotle lime butter over it..

Salads are good I like panzanella salad bread, tomatoes olives onions for something different.

also southern homes like to make beans or peas like butter beans or speckled peas or something like that you can slow cook them or add some butter/margarine in a pot with the can of beans and heat up!

I usually have baked beans I open up a can add some brown sugar, honey, chopped pepper (red or green) onion & add bacon to the top cook in the oven until bacon is crisp and beans are heated through..good eatin!!

have you done red bean rice? its a latin dish cery good i can give you the recipe , just email or im me i have a couple of things

what about pad thai? that would go well with the beef kebabs. Or you could do a tomato and mozz salad with olive oil ontop. I'm a big fan of asian-fuzed dishes. What about a salad with mandarin oranges, won ton strips and a garlic lime dressing? You could also do a stir-fried veggie dish with fried rice. Instead of mushroom rice why not get some big portabella mushroom caps and stuff with breadcrumbs and imitation crab and grill them. Grilling veggies is always good too, have a veggie skewer (peppers, onions, mushrooms) and then have a fruit skewer (limes, lemons, pineapple)

Good luck!
