What to bring to a potluck? Wine?!

Question: The people there will be twenty-somethings. There is supposed to be pasta. Anyone know a good label or type of wine that'd be good? What food would be good?

chianti would be a good wine. Make a nice salad, romaine lettuce, kalamata olives, marinated artichoke hearts, pepperoncini, tomatoes, red onions, with a nice Italian dressing.

i would bring brownies or cookies..easy!! or get kfc..or make mashed potatoes..or cookies..or lemon bars..simple stuff..or sushi?..or pizza?..or pasta with buttery shrimp and garlic bread and marinara sauce

1 of two items are always good, the first is a ham, it's easy and affordable and chicken pieces, this can be bought and oven backed, our family favorite is cleaned of course and them dampened the pieces well with Italian dressing, the oil and vinegar kind and let it bake for 45 to 60 min depending on the size of the pieces of chickens and its just amazing how easy and how good they taste. There is never anything left over.

Cheddar cubes on toothpicks.
Fruit kabobs on toothpicks.

Tossed marinated (Italian dressing) salad: broccoli florets, cauliflower florets, zucchini rounds/sticks and carrot match sticks. With cherry tomatoes or Roma tomatoes (cut) and red onion bits. Marinate vegetables (all except tomatoes, don't marinate tomatoes at all) separately in zip lock bags. Drain and toss just before transporting. Serve with a Thousand Island and bacon dressing for contrast. Ranch will work too.

Nice Chardonnay or Arbor Mist Fruity Wine

toss salad and a smooth wine...
