If you go to an international dinner party where everybody brings its own dish do you...?!

Question: After the dinner is over and if there is food left from your dish do you take it home or leave it to the host? Which is the right thing to do ?

Depends - if there are people who want it, I love to have them wrap food up and take it home to enjoy. But they can't take my bakeware or Rubbermaid.

Our last family party, things were divided up. People took what they wanted. I remember this exceedingly sweet chocolate cake. We pretended to eat it but most of it quietly ended up in the dumpster because no one wanted it. Foil and plastic wrap was provided.

Bring some cheap plastic tupware and give some to anyone that wants to take some home!!! That way you can always bring home the dish you served it from.

If the host really went on and on about how wonderful your dish was, it would be polite to ask them if they wanted to keep the rest. If not, you could just take it home.

leave it

Unless the host asks you to take it home, you should leave it. But, if you want leftovers, make more of it initially and leave some home.

Offer it to the hostess,if she says take it home, take it home that is what I do. I use disposable containers, that way it is less washing up, If no one wants the left overs put it into the garbage bin. You can find these disposable containers in the cheap shops. Have a fun time

The right thing to do is to leave it for her, unless she asks you to take some home.

You should bring some food.
After the dinner ask the host politely if he/she wants to keep the food, if she wants the food keep it. If she doesn't, take it home.
