In a few months i will be having my 16th birthday party and i was wondering about themes.. more details below?!

b. night at the oscars
c.formal
i want this party to be something special but i have a small budget and we will be having it at home... i would like to have up to 20 people there... i am the worst at planning parties.. My birthday is in the summer and we will probably have it in my garage which is pretty big... I will have a dance floor and make cds... i am really big into music, movies and reading (especially the twilight series.
all ideas are welcome.....
and please be somewhat original... i really dont want a cheesey party or a repeat theme

An Evening in Italy
Cold Pasta salad: ranch dressing, pasta spirals, onion, bell pepper, roma tomato, carrots
Homemade chicken salad
Yeast rolls
Tossed Green salad
Tea
Ice Cream and Cake
Cookies
Spaghetti with sauce and cheese
Garlic Bread or homemade yeast rolls
Tossed Green Salad-roma tomatoes, carrot slivers, cucumber sticks, Red Onion, Italian Dressing

Can do a creamed chicken pasta (hot dish) in place of or in addition to the spaghetti dish.
Good bang for your buck and filling. Watch for pasta on sale between now and then. Can have seasonal fruit too.
Overhead lighting, subtitute colored bulbs or use Christmas lights in the rafters. Back lit picture/drawing works too. Maybe the Leaning Tower or a Gondula or Italian Menus, Drawing of chef with dishes etc.

do an asian/japanese themed party...you get get decorations for it very easily...do everything in red and black. Make or order some sushi or chinese food...ive been to an adult version of this and it was soooo much fun
How about a Murder Mystery Party. You can buy them online. In larger cities, you can check them out at the library. Guests are assigned roles in advance so they can dress the part and have whatever props they need. Clues are given out after each course of the meal. Have your mom or an older sibling prepare the clues so even you are surprised. Lots of fun. Takes a little work in advance. Cheap
Do something with cars and driving. Nascar, the whole Disney "Cars" movie thing...find a car you like and build the decorations around it. You're sixteen...party down! You could do a "Great Gatsby" thing which is so far gone no one in your age group will have seen it!
Hollywood.
It would be fun because you could have a red carpet enerance.

You could have people wear sandles when hey come over
Sand box with shovels and pails
Fish, star fish...
A huge beach poster (SCENE SETTER poster)

since you are a music fan.
you can have your friends dress up like their favorite singer or band.
also you can do that with their favorite movie/movie character.
and like decoration for the music one. i think you should go and get like posters of singers and bands and put them up on the walls of your garage. and the same for the movie one too.
but with movie posters instead. lol
umm not really sure what else to tell you. but whatever you choose to do i hope it turns out GREAT and FUN for you and your friends. don't get bummed out if it doesn't turn out exactly the way you wanted it to. just have fun and enjoy it with all your friends!

you can have a hollywood couples party! invite some people and then those guys/girls come as famous hollywood couples. These couples don't have to love each other or any thing, they just come 2gether! it is way fun! good luck
Do a girls night sleepover. Invite your closest (girl) friends over, and do nails, facials, ect...
