cards, poker chips, one of those automatic card shufflers, bags of snacks: chips, pretzles, peanuts, bridge mix, or a gift certificate so they can buy their own snacks.

EDIT a poker book that tells all the rules of the games, and maybe you could find one of those mats/clothes that you put on the table that tells whats higher than what (or if you are crafty you could make one)

Real Clay Chips, Decks of Cards and 5 Dice (as seen on the Sopranos), Caramel Popcorn, Gourmet Pretzels, Honey Mustard Pretzel Dip, Peanuts, Tortilla Chips, Chocolate Poker Chips or Chocolate Gold Coins..if not a real cigar a chocolate one

Cigars, Mojito cocktail mix, cocktail shaker, olives, margarita mix, chocolate poker chips and peppermints.(depends what kind of auction of course)

Poker themed coasters

A Poker Strategy guide OR Book

and maybe you could find poker theme cocktail napkins at a party supply store ... like party city.....

I could go on!!

Depending on what the function is that you are going to facilitate, I would theme your basket along the lines of gifts and prizes that you know all have in common, but keep them on a theme. For example, if you were to use Poker as the theme, maybe a World Poker tour T-shirt, and Texas Hold'em magnets and bumper stickers, Decks of Playing cards, Poker chip key chains, lighters.....etc..... But see how the theme all plays together. I hope this will be helpful, and please have a great poker night and too bad I can't be there, I am a poker junky

If there is a casino around your area, you may get some ideas from them. Since it's for a benefit- they may donate something.

All the other ideas sound great...but I wanted to add beer mugs. Poker players love to drink, but hate when their beers get confused with the person next to them.
