Sweet 16 birthday ideas?!

Question: alot of girls are starting to have their sweet sixteens at my school. they are all doing the same thing, basically revolving around dancing.
some have had party busses, where they drive around and just dance on the bus
and others have had parties in their back yard.
i wanna be different though, i want to do something creative and not to expensive, while still being fun.

any ideas?
anything will help :]

You could have an "olympics party." Set up a bunch of different events for everyone to compete in (there could be a bunch of teams if you have a lot of people or just everyone participates if not). Make or buy trophies for the winners. If you have a pool incorporate water events. Events could be anything like potato sack races, three legged races, wheelbarrow races, carry an egg on a spoon, egg toss (use raw eggs for more laughs), run with a lighted candle without it going out, the list goes on and on...
Or maybe a Garden tea party. Everyone get dressed up and you can get up tables outside in the garden with linen table cloths (you could probs find a bunch of white ones at goodwill for cheap). Serve tea and biscuits and maybe mini-sandwiches. Have croquet or some other posh game set up and get a string band to play (this could simply be 3 first chair string players from your school orchestra- it would probably be cheaper and they should be good if they're first chair)

That bus one would be fun, but you said you wanted to be different.

Maybe you could rent out an old-looking house and say it's haunted, even though it's not. Put around some gags, and even make it a sleepover. Put say things like "this is where he died...some people even say you can feel a cold spot here" and stuff like that and see if they really believe it. Or you could have a friend who knows about it and just plays along.

Okay, so not really dancing...but still...

Or like a roller disco? Those always seem to be fun.

Rent out an entire movie theater and go in your PJ's?

Bowling...?
